Well done a ****e load of overtime so thought id blow me cash on some new gear

so im going to try and fit a feser X changer quad and a fesser x changer 240 to cool my i7 and x2 all internal

tryed to search internet to see if any one else had done the same thing but to no avail

anybody got any ideas how it might be done?

will post pics when its all up and running

Theres space enough for a quad in a Cosmos S?!

You can definitely fit a triple (with normal fan spacing) to the roof internally without any modding - but a quad? Where on earth you gonna put that lol?!

The only place I can forsee (from memory) for the dual would be with rad brackets externally attached to the exhaust 120mm fan at the back?

Wouldn't it be just simpler to buy a triple for the roof and a single for the exhaust?

well my idea is to put the the quad in the top with only 3 fans in pull the 4th 120 part will just be passive cooling

the dual will be fitted to the bottom fan mounting with 1 fan fitted with the other 120 side being passive cooling as well, might even mod the case so another fan can exhaust will see when i get all the parts

with the side fan and 2 120 fans in the front i think there should be enough air circulating in the case for the passive portion of the cooling

another idea just sprang to mind 2 60mm fans attached to the back of my x2 as this side still gets quite toasty

Tbh mate why don't you just grab yourself a XSPC RX360 and pop it in the top there?

Those radiators are BEASTS even topping the Thermochill PA120.3s with low cfm fans.

Even one triple in the top would handle your spec fine??!

There is absolutely no way you'll fit a quad in the Cosmos S.

The XSPC RX360 is about the limit. Even the TFC 360 is slightly thicker so you may run into difficulties with not having enough clearance between your mosfet heatsinks and where the third fan should be.

It doesn't say in your sig whether you've already got said case or not. If you've not then for the cooling you're looking at you'd be much better to get a tj07.

+1

same thing they said about the moon

well i have ordered the cosmos s well we shall see if the quad fits or not by the way fans will be on a pull config. Ill just have to put some of me engineering skills to the test

thing about modding and overclocking is the fun factor regardless if it works or not

Whilst I salute your enthusiasm, don't say you weren't warned.

I am looking at the case right now and telling you that a TFC quad will not fit on the roof of the case. It is true that, with modding the top cover, you could have the fans on the outside in a pull config. That would allow you to get the TFC 360 however the quad is simply too long.

Im sure you could fit a quad against the side panel maybe with vents.

You're sure?

If it doesn't fit in the roof then why on earth do you think it would fit on the bottom along with the PSU, drive bay supports etc?

It's not helpful to post things like this when you could potentially be letting someone waste their money based on an opinion from someone who clearly doesn't have the case or has no idea of the dimensions of these rads or the structure of the side panel.

OP, just out of curiousity...where are you planning on putting the reservoirs and pumps and what kinds did you have in mind for each?

240 rad is goin in the bottom 480 is going in the top with a little modding im sure it can be done if not ill take the case apart and remake the top portion of the case at work amazing what u can do with a fully kitted out engineers workshop

as to the pump and res i got that combined in 2 drive bays

I dont own the case thats true but The case isnt that small. Who says he cant remove half of the drive bays? Were each entitled to our own views and my view is its possible with modding.

If the drive bays were removed then you can place 3 fans side by side and that takes you right up to the psu. This is with the fan casing touching the very edge of the case, which it wouldn't be with a rad. This would give you an absolute max of a triple there. I've just done it this minute.

The side panel is a whole other problem. It is not simply a sheet of metal so it would be quite a feat to do what you're suggesting even if the rad did fit. Observe the inside of the side panel.

i wont be fiiting a quad rad to the door lol but it can be easly done if u replace the fan and mesh with perspex i have seen a quad on the net that is a square shape forget where i had seen this thou

I'm not sure the idea of having a quad with the 4th fan space unable to even passively vent anywhere other than build up in the case would be at all beneficial...especially for the extra cost of the quad and the modding. The connection panel would completely cover it.

If you really wanted the cooling power of a quad would you not be better with a triple on the top and an additional 120.1 on the rear exhaust fan mount?

I may suggest a more powerful pump than a single bay pump/res if you do this though.

well DJ swith i installed the quad with no problem at all

infact the only problems i had was with modding the 38mm kaze fans in the top and deciding how to fit the double rad

ended up installing it to the hard drive bay

well pleased with my results computer looks good and is nice and quite will post the photos to prove once i find me cameras data cable
