Beta keys will work for this.

Now we must wait for a 64bit.

It's not RTM. Its just another build. People gettin far too excited putting RTM on every damn build number.

SoLoR not from OCUK: said:
MY ISO IS BROKEN, it doesnt want to continue to install after first reboot. Have no idea if MS broke this (since its different branch) or something was just wrong with iso. Im in process of recompiling everything.

Both builds are RTM?

So which one is the right one :S

They are RTM "Branch builds"

June 15, Microsoft started over RTM assemblies Windows 7, and now we are witnessing the preparations for the launch of the technological processes to start assembling RTM builds of Windows 7, as well as the emergence of a new branch builds win7_rtm.
We will inform you on the progress of the assembly RTM builds.
That's the first candidate for the final assembly of Windows 7.
All assemblies in the assembly line WIN7_RTM candidates for the finals:
6.1.7260.0.win7_rtm.090612-2110 - RTM branch build

You may ask why the first assembly win7_rtm has already been collected on 12 June not 15 June. There are several working groups involved in the process of assembling and assessing the quality of assemblies. Once the assembly is collected and its quality is confirmed, assembly already seen leading engineers, and only then put to the vote, these assemblies will be few. How do you understand all of these steps and procedures take time, so only the June 15 assembly from June 12, attained the status of the real candidates for the final RTM release.

I'm still on 71XX something, no show stopping bugs in it for my use, so not worth the effort of updating for now

I'll do a full format for the real RTM when it's out

When can we expect the final RTM? Will it be 7300 and will it be available from MS RC website or will we have to find a leaked version?

of course not, that's the final version!

they only do this with the server os's

I'm still on 7000 here and have a huge collection of intermediate builds, just haven't got around to installing a new one yet, a new build seems to popup everytime.

The actual RTM is so close, you'd be stupid to install any of these latest releases.

7100 still going strong here :)

Except the real and final RTM, if leaked will not work with the beta serial numbers I would assume?

Also it has been reported that the 7260 version has MAJOR changes from the previous versions so maybe quite a few more features which you would get in the final version?

On that basis maybe worth downloading as perhaps the closest beta to final release you can get until it is launched in October.

not really, i switched from 7100 to 7201 a couple of weeks ago and it fixed a few niggling problems i had under 7100.

i'll stick with 7201 until RTM, it's very good.
