Intel Core i7 920 D0 Bundle now available at 4.20GHz. Offering even higher levels of performance than ever before we have pushed the boundaries of the i7 platform yet again. With clock speeds a full 870MHz faster than the top of the line Intel Core i7 975 3.33Ghz Extreme Edition and coming in at only £742.47 inc VAT there is no alternative for those looking for the fastest hardware available.

£742.47 inc VAT (this is making me laugh as this price is a rip off) I can push my bundle from 4.00Ghz to 4.20Ghz with a single click on the bios by turn on Turbo Mode on it.

Why paying extra £150 for ?

P.S. What is the temperature of full load for 4.20Ghz at 870MHz speed ? 90C ?

I read here on the forums that improvements were being made to this bundle. But damnnnnn, +£60 for the 4GHz ?!

the 4.2GHz it super cherry picked chips

ones with low stock voltages that overclock better than the majority - we get very few of these
that is why the price is significantly more

each bundle is stressed at the higher clock to make sure it is capable

due to the way in which the bundles are produced by myself, each bundle is speedbinned and assigned to a customer dependant on what speed they have ordered

the fenrir is a good cooler and can handle 4GHz
but it is essentially a value heatsink

the 4.2ghz bundles are set to have megahalems attatched

i have tested 4.4GHz on LinX using this cooler and it is more than up to the job

As Rich has said, the 4.20GHz overclock uses mega cherry picked chips, we can only handle so much demand for them and be able to deliver.

The whole bundle is cheaper than a 975 chip on its own yet is considerably faster, with warranty. It is a superb deal for anyone looking to get great performance without the budget for Intel's premium extreme editions.

Yikes i posted in a other thred that the prices must be mistake so i take that back, I do understand that the cherry picked ones sell at price that called business and i dont blame you, however the std 4.0g had gone up and you cant blame that on the exchnage rate? Maybe demand was high and $$$ lit up lol. Fair play though peeps

We can only make so many and it depends on the batches of chips we have in to how many of the 920's do the clocks. :)

Does the same trend follow under water? As in most are happy at 4, a few fall short, and a few can make it to 4.2?

Or does keeping the chips much cooler still lead to higher clocks, meaning the gamble on breaking 4ghz is a lot less if your cooling system is better than high end air. There's not many places I could ask people who have overclocked quite so many of them :)

I had notice a change of the cpu cooler from Titan Fenrir to be replacement with Noctua NH-U12P SE1366 CPU Cooler ?

May I ask why is changed to a different cpu cooler now ?

P.S. I thought that rjkoneill metion somewhere on this forum that the Noctua cpu cooler is not good enough on air cooler for 4Ghz ?

Does that mean the other bundles at the chips that won't hit 4.2?

I think he mentioned the Noctua runs 2-3 degrees hotter than the Fenrir but is a little quieter.

Looks like the Titan Fenrir is just out of stock at the mo. so rather than stop selling the bundle they have changed the cooler...

i would not pay the extra for the 4.2ghz model , 0.2 of a gig is not really going to make that much of a difference ....spend the extra on an SSD ... lol

In absolute fairness you are making it hard on the staff :p. Sure you guys can do it, but don't knock their ability to make cash out of people with weak constitutions. :D

Can ya comment a tad more on this bit as the page has nothing on warrenty and I assume the cpu warrenty is void as soon as you overclock it :p
