Anyone been to Malia?

I went a few years ago with a mate of mine. We stayed about a 10 minute walk along the coast so was nice and peaceful during the day, with a nice pool and a decent promenade along the beach.

Found a decent restaurant that served all kinds of lovely foods, so we ate there every evening and then headed to the strip in Malia of a night and had a great time!!!

When we were there it was a very friendly atmosphere and everyone was having a great laugh! There was a good variety of pubs/clubs ranging from nice and chilled out to clubs going right through to the early hours.

Most evenings we did a bit of a bar crawl round our favourite bars and ended up heading to a late club with some of the bar staff we had befriended and emerged from the club to find it was daylight, great times!!!

My last holiday somewhere sunny was bloody boring, nothing to do other than lay around the pool or walk into the deserted town so I really am after something a bit more lively with more to do so Malia does sound pretty good. One hotel I've found is a 3* B+B and called Malia Deldalos, looking at about £220 for a week, that good?

Sounds pretty good. Is that full/half board or self catering?

Much confess I didn't do anything even vaguely cultural etc when there, but Crete has a lot of history so I'm sure there will be a lot of interesting things to go and see.

Went two years ago and wouldnt go again it was a bit nuts, usual groups of fools wrecked going nuts x 1000 and sick everywhere and you have a picture of what its like.

I went 2 years ago and didn't like it.

The feel of the place felt nasty and cheap, it is full of idiots on quadbikes, the beach near by wasn't that nice at all very rocky. I much prefered Magaluf go there instead, I say!

I've been two or three times back in the mid nineties.

Got drunk a lot, met lots of women and had a blast !

Always rent a decent bike and go see some of what the island has to offer during the day, and at night make use of the night life !

I went with the missus a few years ago. The Malia strip was typical british infested booze fuelled etc..

We had great weather though, and hired a moped each to get about. Going a little down the coast to Stalia each day was much nicer area.

Some real nice places to eat if you look around too.

Mate, I've just got back from 2 weeks there! So if you've got any questions, just fire away!

Bearing in mind, we went on a lads holiday, I found it pretty amazing, went to Semiramis Apartments, which is right on the strip. Nightlife was amazing, and the beach is also pretty good, although you gotta pay for your sunloungers :/
Definitely recommend it to someone looking for a lively holiday, however, if it's a family or couple, I wouldn't really see it working, it's just far too mental! ;)
Like someone did say, the Quads/Mopeds are really irritating, but you just get used to it, most Greek people appear to have bought their driving licence anyway ;)

If you've got any questions though mate, just let me know, be happy to give you some advice :)
