Just a quick heads up on this, as many of you will know Sky have been replacing their subscription cards with the new white ones, but not much has been known about the FTV (Freesat from Sky) cards. If these were purchased as FTV cards (e.g. not expired subscription cards that have reverted to FTV) then Sky are replacing them, but rather than just sending them out you need to request them from here before the end of September.

Even if you think your card isn't valid to be replaced for free it's probably still worth having a check, cheaper than waiting for it to expire then buying another one.

Was just about to do this, but will have to do it when I get home. Thanks for the info :)

Nice of them to tell us though!

Thanks for the heads up, look's like you saved me a few squid there.

Why do we have to find such things out from the internet these days. Should be a commercial crime if you ask me!

oh dear my viewing card currently resides at my parents in law who are 83 and live abroad.

How am i going to explain this lol.

You don't need to, just use the viewing card number and order one to your current address, then post it to them.

I never knew that you could get Freesat stuff via a sky dish. Does this mean that with one of these cards and my old unused Sky box (current box is a Sky+) I could have Freesat in my bedroom which won't interfere with my Sky+ and I won't have to get Multiroom or similar?

Yepski!!... no Multiroom guff needed!.. its just a one off £20 (£19.57 with the new VAT) charge and thats it!.. if the Dish is up and pointing in the rite direction, you have a spare connection on your LNB and you have a spare box!.. Simples!!.. (you won't get the Sky+ bits though!! just the FTA/FTV channels... but NO 'Dave' :( )

:)

I just found out sky were swapping these cards out, I assumed they were only changing the subsription cards over until this afternoon when our freesat box kicked off.

Thanx to a forum member pointing me in the right direction we now should be getting a new card soon.
