POWER BUTTON does NOT WORK (antec 1200)

HI, took me all day to build to transfear all components from old case to antec 1200.

connected everythin', when push POWER button, nothin', double checked all connections, nothing wrong!

I have ASUS P5Q-E mobo, it does have POWER button, when press it, everytnig works, than checked with old case power button, connected from old case cables, and also worked..

so Faulty is power buttton on 1200 antec case,

any suggestions?

Id suggest contacting the place where you bought the case, or contact antec directly, theyre reputed to be pretty good when it comes to sorting issues, they may be able to send you a replacement power button assembly.

Can you power on the computer by connecting the power switch pins on the mobo ?

Im sure you could send the case back if its faulty.

A bit of a PITA but needs must!

You made sure the cable for the power switch it's in the right way?

The p5q boards have built in pwr and reset buttons on the board so no need to short pins with screwdriver

If the button/switch assembly can be removed, then I've no doubt Antec would send you a replacement if you sent an email to them.

WELL..PROBLEM HAS BEEN SOLVED!

I removed TOP bazzle to check if POWER BUTTON cables were connected, well they were, but desided to pull them off...

I did CIRCLE from wire and placed to wires which were left on the button .. and connected..

then sticked on place (see above pic) so cable stay on place

so, when gave it a try it DID work...so now it's working!

Little bit of soldering can save £££'s in RMA postage - as long as you know what your doing and dont get it everywhere you're fine.
