Spec Me: Gaming Rig <£550

Hi ocuk

about to buy the components for my first pc build. My budget is sub £550 for a pc without monitor or periphals. I'd like to keep the graphics card as its dx11 compatible and i'd not have to upgrade for some time to keep up with the latest games.

Here's what i've come up with so far (awd-it):

prices in the picture are without vat

This totals £518

You will have to change ram to dual channel, I would get a better psu like corsair, I would change the hdd to a Samsung F3.

I would but the corshair psu's cost twice as much for a 450w, so i cant really afford to do that.

Well you cant use the ram you have got at the moment, Well the psu you have said probably wont run the pc you want it to and if it did it would have a large chance of breaking and taking everything with it, Rule 1 never cheap out on psu.

theres one under your budget and is a lot better than what you said.

I'd like to have a larger psu so that i can xfire in teh future without having to upgrade.

also can i ask do cpus come with coolers? or do you have do buy your own :cool:

OEM CPU's come just on there own.

Retail boxed CPU's come with a heatsink and fan

would have thought this wasnt far away from what you want,a proven bundle ,pick a case then if theres any change upgrade the graphics with the change

It sems a bit crazy spending an extra £16 on a case, when for a few quid more you can get the triple rather than the dual core, by sticking with the cheaper case.

I'd rather you put at least some sort of aftermarket cooler on it anyway though.

I would go for something like this and get a cheap ATX case for a couple of quid.
