Seeing as people will be getting there copies today/tomorrow i thought i'd make a thread! Also anyone who fancies a game add me for some zombie killing action!

Whether or not Left 4 Dead 2 is for you really depends on your level of exposure and affinity for the style of hardcore team-focused gameplay Valve is offering here. If you’re still interested in the gameplay, then you’re going to enjoy every aspect of the sequel since it’s improved in all areas, from available game modes to strength of character and personality to replayability and its visual style. After playing, you’ll find it impossible to go back to the first game. Though plenty of other games offer co-operative gameplay against mobs of computer-controlled foes, no other game emphasizes teamwork as strongly as this, and few other games are as satisfying when you’re able to pull through successfully, particularly when competing in Versus mode against four human-controlled boss zombies. If you saw the original and were always curious to try it out, then by all means get the sequel. It is, without a doubt, the better game. Yet despite all the advancements and additions, it’s still very familiar, and something meant to appeal to those who are already sold on the concept. If you’re someone never cared for the game, Left 4 Dead 2 isn’t going to change your mind. Even so, it remains one of the most distinctive co-operative titles out there, and allows for some of the most nerve-searing team-based multiplayer gaming on the market.

Totally disagree with the review. Imo the game tries to do too many things, the new melee weapons like the guitar and frying pan are stupid(and overpowered) and it just doesn't have the same atmosphere as the first one. The display has a horrible 'haze' or 'fog' type look about it(even in dark areas) and no adjustment of brightness/contrast on your display will resolve it. Putting the two side by side, the first is crystal clear and sharp in comparison.

Sitting here with 5 others, 4 of us think that L4D2 is tosh, glad I kept the original.

Waiting for someone to sell this at a decent price, not paying more than £30 for this on the 360. I'm hoping for a supermarket deal tomorrow.

Got mine today, enjoying it so far. Although the levels do seem a lot harder, especially Carnival even on Normal. There does seem to be a lot going on but I'm putting it down to it feeling overwhelming at first. I think once you get used to it you'll enjoy it a lot more. The first game was pretty basic don't forget so it's bound to feel harder.

'basic' doesn't have anything to do with how easy or hard it is. I think they've simply tried to add too much and totally over done it. Basic was good, this is just, over the top stupidness, kind of thing...

Are you sure that's not the 'film grain' effect they use on the game?
The first one has a slider in the option menu where you can choose to have pretty much a clear picture, to a really grainy, noisy stock one.

I'm getting it, as well as my friends who I've played the original with. Although I've always preordered online in the past, I've not bothered this time. I'm also waiting till tomorrow to see what the Supermarkets do. I don't suppose anyone has any info on prices or such yet? As with MW2, people had obviously already found all that out.

It's not film grain, the effect isn't 'noisy' anyway. It's hazy, foggy, bright, misty, whatever you want to call it, what it aint, is sharp and clear. Download the demo and look for yourself.

You're going to force me to buy this, I know it! There better be some good deals about tomorrow :p

Do it.....Do it!!! I'm sure danny is getting it also so we could have a theesome unless we can find another person to make it a foursome :o

Really enjoying this but the levels are so long and we even struggled with some on normal! Expert will be utterly insane on this game. Carnival is excellent!

Yeah I'm getting it when it's £30 I'm not going to bother until it is really. The deals are goignt o be coming in for games this time of year so may as well wait a week or so :)

Got my copy last week, and I really like it. It takes everything good about the original and improves on it, from additional weapons, enemies, levels, melee weapons, everything. If you didn't like the first game then this definitely won't change your mind, but if you did enjoy it then this is a must-buy IMO.

I've just ordered mine, I wasn't going to bother but projector time over at a friends this weekend so I couldn't resist!

I really thought this would go for around £30 yet the cheapest i've seen is £37, still got mine though :p

Anyone up for some co-op tonight?
