So the rumours were true... The X58A boards weren't completely discontinued! Oh well, too late for me: I have my i7 860 arriving tomorrow. :D

when will these new technologies actually start appear thought, and at resonable prices?

obiviously with SDD's, you could make full use of the extra SATA bandwidth, but how long until USB 3.0 actually becomes mainstream?

either way, nice board

Intel said they weren't "endorsing" USB 3.0 till late next year. So it oculd be a while before we see lots of products which support it.
This looks a sweet board though.
Glad I waited too!!

God damn it, I want one of these mobos!!!

I contacted GB on several occasions regarding these EX58A boards, and every single time, they replied telling me that these boards weren't going to be released to the public, and the ones that I had seen pictures of were just engineering samples that were put together for some computer fair thing... :(

I would not swap my Blood Rage GTi for anything.

It's when I see boards like this @ £264.99 makes me glad I got my Bloodrage when I did. I doubt this clocks any better too.

For sure. This board uses bastardized controllers for both USB and SATA 3 and from the few previews of SATA 3 there have been, it's poor to say the least.

By the time there is a good choice of USB/SATA 3 items out, there will be better and cheaper boards.

I'm all for understanding early adoption, but this is just a waste of money imo :(

I was also told exactly the same thing. This was back in September before I bought my UD5. They told me the EX58A boards would never be released in Europe. Either way, will take a while for USB 3 to become common place. Would have been nice to have bought it when I purchased my rig. But not worth it now. Like people say, there will be better boards out by the time USB 3 is in full adoption.

Got a link? I thought it was just the P55 board they have released (the maximus?). Didnt know there was a R3E? Any idea on release?

was a pic over on XS or o/c.net i spend way to much time reading i forget which site. Was running 3 GFX On a bench with a ROG oc station i belive very limited info tbh sorry.
