The wife and I are looking to go away this Sunday/Monday for a two day break. We haven't a clue where though!
There are some limitations, we're leaving from Glasgow so preferably nothing more than a three hour drive or reasonable train journey.
We've done York, Newcastle, Blackpool, Oban and Liverpool recently and loved them all. Total budget maybe 250 pounds, but that's not set in stone.
We're not looking for an activity holiday, but something with interest in terms of sights or cool shops and restaurants to visit.
I've considered maybe Durham, Middlesborough, Harrogate...any experience of those places, or would you recommend anywhere else? All suggestions considered, thanks!!

Out of the three you mention, Harrogate as it has a Betty's tea room.
