[longshot] Real time UK tempreture readings?

Hi.

I'm looking for a source of near real time temperature (and other measure like wind speed etc) for the UK to generate NRT charts like this one http://www.rap.ucar.edu/weather/model/ruc00hr_sfc_temp.gif

does anyone know at data provider that I can tap into. At the moment I'm using US NCAR RAP (which is used in the above) data but I want to the same type of stuff for the UK and it only has 2 UK stations listed :rolleyes:

Long shot but I thought someone in GD might have some clues!

Don't have any links but I'll be suprised if you do find any. The UK is big, I think you need a specific location to narrow your control volume.

Cheers RicochetJ they should be available. Whilst the UK might seem like a big place, it's probably only got 100-200 weather points that are capable of streaming live data, and they're pretty much all needed in order to reconstruct decent heat maps

Have you tried the Met Office?

Is this any good? Look at the top, it seems live?

You can get some weather stations from here:

As a starting point I suggest you try getting hold of METAR data, try this freeware:

You can select UK stations.
