Anyone been to this city before? I'm off on a stag do in September for two nights and just wondering what I can expect.

Am I right in thinking lots of hot eastern european women looking to milk you for money and big eastern european men looking for a fight?

I've been Tallin in Estonia on a stag do before and had a great time, anyone been to both and can make a comparison?

What's the nightlife like? Price of a pint/food etc? Anything in particular to be wary of or know about?

Thanks!

strip clubs are pretty dodgy, apart from sin city, which is pricy. My mate got sticky fingers courtesy of a girl called Luba though...

make sure you go to red fred's bar and have a red fred.

I've been was in 2006. Was a good laugh, lovely city.

Food and drink is pretty cheap and there's plenty to see, the women are amazingly stunning out there but arent really that interested in tourists, still nice to look at.

Although it's hard try and steer clear of the strip clubs as most of them are dodgy as hell and willl try to con you. We (well my mate) fell victim to a scam that cost him 100 and involved us running as fast as we can from some bouncers who apparently pin you down and cut off a testicle. I'm not exagerating either, it is a very real problem that I experianced first hand. If you find yourself in that situation pay up and leave quietly.

Oh also, dont go for a wizz in the streets the police will be all over you.

I went and did some shooting in a disused soviet bomb shelter, shot a glock, a pump action shot gun and an AK47. That was arranged through our hostel, Friendly Franks I think it was called. Good location and the staff were quite nice. 24 hour bar too! The funny thing about the shooting it was just a big long room (former mess hall i think) and in the middle was a trellace table with the guns fully loaded on it, not attached to anything, just sitting there. It's odd to think I feared for my life twice in 3 days!

Before we went in to the shooting room they made us sign this decleration that we had no filming or photographic equipment. They also said goggles and ear protectors were optional!

Me and a group of friends went a few weeks ago to Riga for a stag do. We stayed at the Stag Hotel which was in a bit of a gritty part of town but was a real good laugh. We had a tour around some pubs and clubs and went clay shooting, there was also a stip club onsite so you didnt get scammed and as said before you can do a lot more with them then just look ;)

It was freezing a few weeks ago, lots of snow. Not much of a night life in winter but was decent enough. The women are STUNNING but most dont speak english, we didnt get into trouble but we almost did as a group of big lads came up to us outside a club and said we were french. they started a fight on the other side of the road and they all got arested and thrown into a police van. I read that they hate tourists and like to do this kind of thing.
