Hi all,

I'm out of the loop with video cards these days so I need some advice from the forum regulars. :)

Basically I'm wanting a new card to transfer a lot of old Hi8 and VHS tapes but also use it with new digital camcorders in the long run.

Many thanks in advance people :)

New digital camcorders use either USB or firewire, so as long as you have those ports on your pc, you won't have any issues.

As to your other question, I don't really know. I use an Easycap USB device... its not bad, but can be a pain to setup initially.

Thanks.

That EasyCap device looks interesting. I'm semi-building a new system so I thought I'd look into a card with dedicated video capture features as gaming isn't going to be an issue for me.

I should have also said my PSU is a 430W Antec.
