Knocking at heavens door, I mean my Mondeo that is..

My Mondeo has started Knocking, been told its the bottom end shagged.

Basically oil was run low and I put into service now its knocking, wasnt too loud but since my last 50miles its started to knock louder and now does it on IDLE.

Anyone know how long she will go for or is it a guessing game?

I've got a problem with my mondeo too (Mk2), basically its rough at idle takes an age to get upto 65 and doesn't seem to want to go much past this, its a 2.0 any ideas what the prob may be.

Coil Pack maybe, friend had something similar.

I play Music to cover my knocking as it does my head in, Ill also add that sometimes when i pullup it will just cut or stall. Revs just die

If it's knocking on idle then it hasn't long left at all. Maybe 50 miles tops.

All depends. My 205 GTI knocked for about 2000 miles. My Sierra lasted less than 100 (but still ran when it threw a rod)

Well I know its bottom end for sure, maybe something else too.

Thing is the car has done 90k Full history and 3 owners and pristine condition or WAS.

Number 1 RULE NEVER lend car out, i come back after a friend was using it and now its knocking. I dont think he was checking oil and it had a leak.

Gutted

Depends how hard you drive it, you could probably cease the crank in less than a mile if you thrashed it.

Bottom end is prone to it on the v6, happened on mine too. Once it start's to get worse your time is very numbered, engine replacement job!
