I have always been happy with mid-range systems, just about running every game that comes out but it's time to step it up.

My aim is to build a pc capable of running games at 5040x1050 (3x22" monitor) on high(ish) using eyefinity.

My budget is roughly £2000 but I don't mind going over a bit if necessary and after talking to some friends and many hours googling i've come up with this build:

basketx.png

That comes to £2,094.43 (inc VAT and shipping)

Can you spot any obvious flaws or any parts I should change/upgrade?

Thank you :)

just had another look at your basket and i would personally change the case to something else.

that's a lot of money for a case and im sure there is better for less or slightly more.

you wanted 3 monitors but only haave 2 in your basket.

looks ok by the way.

I already have a 22" monitor (Acer V223W) i'm just worried about my set up looking strange because the bezel around the edges will be different.

Do you think it's worth trying to sell my current monitor and buying a 3rd samsung sm2233bw?

100 mb PCI Adaptor? why not use the gigabit on on the board?

ah I didn't realise there was one on the board already, i've removed it from the basket now.

I can't use every case on the market because the 5970 is so long, there are only a handful of cases that it will fit in

Tbh I'm assuming there is. I'd be very surprised if any mobo in the least 10 years didn't ave onboard network, and GB in the last 5 years.

CHange the case to an Antec 1200 and change the PSU to this one which is specifically designed for the 1200 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-120-AN&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=1088

The good thing about it is that its modular :D and the case can fit a 5970.

About the Monitor thing it is always nice to have 3 matching monitors.

Apparently that is a picture of a 5970 inside an Antec 1200, it's a tight fit but as long as it fits I guess it is ok.

I'm having trouble finding any information about the bezel on the Samsung SM2233BW's. I'm tempted to buy another 2 Acer V223W because the bezel is quite small but they don't tilt at all =/

Should I go for cheap 120mm fans or do brand names matter? I went for £13.99 fans instead of £4 odd fans.

MOST 11 blade fans push more air flow than the standard 6 blade. but from reviews, noctua... the ugly brown ones, push the most CFM for noise level. closely followed by *not listed on ocuk* and just under that are loon sharkee's. some of the cheaper fans can be very noisey and not manage to push a lot of air. (found that out myself) if you choose carefully its better to get a more expensive one vs the £4 ones in SOME cases.

you are obv looking for fans to suit for gaming, so you will, most likely want high CFM fans to expel heat quickly and keep temps down.

Thanks for the advice, i'm not getting the money for ~2 weeks so i'll keep researching.

The money is from a motorbike accident that happened over 2 years ago and this pc is going to be one of the very few things I treat myself to so I really want something to enjoy.

Would 3x24" monitors really be worth it instead of 3x22" monitors? I'm looking at http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-051-IY because they have good reviews on the overclockers website but I can't find any other reviews or any good pictures to see how big the bezel is.
