How is this program still on the television...

I just caught the end of one and it actually pained me.

Noel still spouting the same old nonsense as he was at the point the show started god knows how long ago in his poncy blouses.

"Best/Worst game we've ever had", "Luckiest/Unluckiest round ever."

The utterly gut churning sickly overly-opitimistic attitude of the contestants around the wings and people in the audience.

*Opens a box, £250,000 in it*

"OOHOHHHHHAWWWWW"

*Crowd is silent*

*Someone pipes up* "You may not have the big prize Brenda, but you're a wonderful person inside and most people don't have that, so you'll always be wealthy"

BARF.

It was good when it first came out for a few months. I watched it most days being a student back then (this is over 4 years ago!). After a few months of watching it I got seriously bored of the format.

I watched one reasonably recently and I agree with the OP. It is ridiculous now in every sense. Noel saying the same old tripe and the contestants all being super sickly nice all the time. You know all they are doing is biding their time until they get a chance of winning some money and really don't give a **** about the rest of them!

It's so bad sometimes I cannot help BUT watch it. :o

It's worth watching for some of the hot girls that are on it sometimes.

It's even worse when you go onto a gambling site and play it. Noel is there too with his stupid little phrases, however you always lose!

The whole show could be over in a minute if you just banged out your choices. It's absolute tripe.

All the numerology drives me mental too... "My nan's friends cat once got hit by a car driven by a 23 year old, so I don't want box 23". Um, sure, whatever, you mentalist.

Love it, watch it almost everyday at work or have it on in the background if I'm home cooking. Helps that very often they have some talent on there.

Yeah it's a pure luck game and the only real decision is when to quit but I like it.

I hate this show. It's a game that celebrates and punishes greed in equal measure and encourages idiots to act like morons. What winds me up the most is when Edmonds says something like, "You're playing a really clever game", What?!? You're asking people to open boxes for you.

It must say something about me but I get vastly more enjoyment out of watching some greedy chav thinking he can wing it with like 2 reds against 6 blues and proceeding to lose everything. Its the way they try to cover up their crushing disapointment by exaggerated hand clapping and "I've had a lovely day Jim, I mean, Noel." or "I only came here for the experience" etc.

Look, I'm not going to defend the program.
I've watched it and although I haven't enjoyed it obviously as much as those in the studio, I've not hated it either.
Most people see this as simply choosing and opening boxes - a game that could be over in just a few minutes.
A game of no skill, total luck.
In essence correct - but there is slightly more to the game than that.

Offers from the "banker" are totally dependant on what boxes are still in play.
There are serious decisions to be made.
Take the offer, risk another round.....

They aren't life or death, but I've seen people with £30k offers risking another round and taking out the 250k and 100k and getting the next offer of 5k

Seriously, compared to some of the other rubbish out there it isn't too bad.

They should speed the game play up ;) Their also like "im sorry" All your doing is picking boxes to be opened its nothing but pure luck and deciding when to take the money. I prefer game shows like 'Who wants to be a millionaire' probably my favourite i've ever watched.

Hate it, hate it, hate it.

It's the same sado contestants/audience who will undoubtedly watch Saturday night TV and clap along to the X-Factor, buy Cheryl Cole biographies and generally, live a very mind numbing life!

You wanna watch "Take Me Out" on itv2, hosted by paddy mcguinness, loads of hotties on that, bit of a girly program but he's funny and the hotties as i said.

I watched that when it was on Saturday nights. Yes there are some nice girls on it.

No likie, no lightie. :D

It used to be good when it first started but now it's just a massive love in and it makes me cringe so bad.

In saying that, however, whenever I'm round my grans house I catch it and there is something oddly satisfying about someone being greedy and losing everything.

It could be over in 8 seconds.

"PICK A BOX"
"17 please"
*ring ring*
"THE BANKER OFFERS YOU A HUNDRED POUNDS"
"I'll keep the box please."
"YOU WIN A PENNY"
*roll credits*

I wrote a massive massive rant on this for stand up purposes, it makes me rage so much.

*Picks a random number*

"Ooh, a very shrewd game you're playing, a very shrewd game"

*World Ends*
