Ok i'm new here but thought i'd share this with you, having read a forum members post that got slated for posting a solitary game download link i decided to post links to not one but two comprehensive A-Z lists, i recently knocked together two lists of Retro clones/remakes, one for Retro remakes forum and the other for AVforums.

Due to my thread on AVforums being two years old it has just received a comprehensive update, alongside the obvious download links for the included games i have also included video previews of included games where available and original game music remixes for play and download, all included content should be freeware. The Retro remakes list is devoid of the play/download remixed music due to the forum not supporting the play feature and both lists have had everything (clips, images) hosted at different places, now if either forum is down the list will still be accessible at the other location.

These lists are remakes/clones of previously commercial or pd released titles, there are no 'retro type' games included.

Note :- None of lists were requested from either forum, rather me deciding they were needed :D

None of these titles require emulators to run, they are Retro clones/remakes of the original titles and just need a pc, for the anti install brigade you can check whether it needs installing or not prior to downloading as i have included that info too.

I hope you enjoy this resource, it has taken me many many hours of spare time and a few months of updating at both sites to finish what i started, enjoy.

Click the images below to view the appropriate list (note the include game content is the same on both lists) the download resources are added as guide only :-

Maybe he did and found a load of mindless drivel about "what was once a great time, is no more" or similar :p

so all these work good not bug ridden ? if so great one love the retro gaming :)
I can't vouch for the odd game having a few bugs, that's the individual game developers problem, but by an large i tested 'very nearly' every one of these games myself (nearly all screen shots in resource are my own) and they were at the very least totally playable.

Prior to knocking these lists together i couldn't find a list that just contained remakes of commercially released titles, any lists i found contained games that were incomplete, links broken and/or full of 'retro type' games, this meant that you had to trawl through pages upon pages of crap just to pick out a few titles.

These lists are current and updated constantly with download links fixed, alternate hosting found when required, additional content music remixes, highscore column etc added as they grew, rest assured although not perfect they will be the best you could probably hope for.

Now go check out a few :)

Nice List!!

It's a shame none of them need emus to play. I could have got some more games to add to my Dingoo ( which already has 3000+ retro games on )

Np peeps, thought i might post in this thread occasionally whenever i update (add titles) to the threads at their current locations, i'm currently considering free hosting for another couple of old remakes that currently have no download links available (i grabbed them ages ago when they were available), but will only update the lists at about 5 games a time, there's some new stuff upcoming too and of course plenty of stuff already included. :)

Possible correction on your site.

Eye of the Beholder looks like the second game, if you want to stick a 2 on the end.

Have updated the first post with extended pics.

Is there any way of getting those lists on Rapidshare in bulk?
Probably but i wouldn't as the authors by an large actually like people visiting their sites, this also ensures you get the latest bugfixed or additional content version, hence i always link to the official site first, with a backup download site selectable where possible (few i have yet to add though) for when/if the official site is down.

I also included about 5 games which were no longer available for download (free hosting) , but am having a few problems with the links staying alive, will look into this when i get some free time maybe later.

Not my site matey :D but you're absolutely correct and a '2' has been added to both lists thanks.

These have now been sorted, i'll post an update in this thread again whenever i update the lists with a few more titles old or new. :p

Both lists have have had a few more titles added

Remakes of a couple of hard to find titles :- Ah diddums and Henrys house alongside Robotzdx and The factory with working links to Bor mods for Golden axe remake and Golden axe Coda amongst others. Content has now reached well over 456 games.

Enjoy

Updated both lists again, please note though when i add titles i don't include only new releases, due to the amount of remakes that have been released there are loads of missed gems, two of those which were missed due to download links being broken are now included.

New additions include a remake of splatterhouse called living hell, another remake of Green beret namely Red forces, Spy hunter (one switch) and Castlevania the bloodleting (Remake of the never released 32x title)

There's another superb remake of arcade classic donkey kong which i'll include soon, this contains at least 4 extra levels and online high scores there's a few bugs still to iron out imo, but it's already fantastic and a great challenge, i love this game and it's what i'm currently playing atm.

For now enjoy what's here ;)
