Well sod it, instead of spamming every single thread about 'spec me a ultra portable' or 'best netbook with graphics and stuff', I'll just spill it out here

Ok, expensive for a netbook, but in the realm of ultra-portables, and how 'spoiled' with choice we are in the UK, it's a decent contender.

Now watching over the 3820TG with 5650 like an hawk.

Hi there

Out of curiosity how much did you pay for this?

Just interested in knowing how much people are actually willing to spend on a Netbook especially when it verges into Laptop moneywise.

the formor runner the asus 1201N was for about £380-£420 this would be about £450 I would imagine

the 1201n was the fastest netbook up till this comes out

also one of the most capable netbooks, even on a gaming point for the price at least

I didn't buy one (yet). But yeah, a dual core atom and Ion Optimus sounds interesting. Waiting for reviews, to see how it performs. £430 is basically verging on i3 laptop prices. However, Ion2 is pretty weak. Not even on par with a GT220M.

love the 1201, seems only a little slower, but battery life is 1.5 hours longer..
hard to compare to 13" laptop though
its enough for half life, portal, tf2, wow, 20fps in mw2.

Had my eye on this since it was announced. Being released too late for me though, want a machine to take on holiday with me in just over a week's time. Shame, looks like a cracking bit of kit!

just get the 1201N than ?

Wanted longer battery life really. Still, it's definitely on the short-list along with the Acer Ferrari One and Dell M101Z

Was all set to get one but then the nile based AMD's look the best bang for buck really.

Think I'm going for an acer aspire 1551 or m101z, same kinda prices as this but the k325 and k625 are on a par with SU7300, SU9400.. much more powerful than this dual atom, with decent graphics too. You just suffer a little bit with battery life.

I'm tempted to do this actually, you can pick up a brand new one £295 if you shop around, and the 1215n (especially the uk spec version) offers virtually nothing over it... Bargain!!

You sure that ain't the NL (single core, Win7 Starter)? Cheapest I can find is £330 with WinXP and £350 with Win7.
