Hello,
I would just like some experienced opinions please

There is a new bios on the asus website for my motherboard
P6TD Deluxe 0501 BIOS
1. Improve system stability
2. Support new CPUs

I'm particularly looking at the Improve system stability but would you update if you felt your overclock and system was perfectly stable.

Also is there any risk if i do

thankyou for your help
Tom :)

If your overclock is stable in all that you use it for, then theres no need to update the bios, if however you think an update can help, by all means try it. But, do not update the bios with the asus windows based utility, this has a proven track record for killing motherboards, may not happen when you try it but imho its not worth the risk. When updating the bios use the asus ez flash utility from a usb stick, very simple and far safer.

That was actually my question.
Do you know what format the usb has to be (i imagine fat32)
and do i just move the download file into the folder
thankyou for quick reply

Yep, FAT32, download the bios file and extract to the usb stick, ez flash is a great utility, havent had to use it yet on my p6t dlx v2, did though on my old s775 p5q deluxe. Got badly burned by the asus windows flash utiliy when it killed an s939 board a few years ago.

i'm glad i asked because i was going to use that utility. (noob)
I will update when i get a spare 10-15minutes (guessing that will reset the bios)
Thankyou for your help setter
cheers, Tom
