Another cracking film from my childhood comes back to haunt me as an adult !

So here's the skinny :

Trifire - Asus EAH 5870 v2.0
works fine on air

watercooled
works fine

had a leak
whoops

Cleaned up leak and stripped and cleaned everything .. wated a few days to dry kit out


all works fine

GPU (3) vanishes from device manager

re-install all AIR coolers and run separatelly
works fine

install all 3 in crossfire and tr-fire and swap them around a load
Works fine (Furmark to test)

watercool them all
works fine for an hour or two... the same GPU VANISHES from Device Manager !!

Grrrr Annoyed !

Ripped the loop apart
reseat the waterblocks on them all
re-install and pray

Works ! yay
(3) vanishes after 4 hours

So what gives ?

there's no damage to the card .. it works solo and air cooled in tri-fire
the waterblock is barely attached there's no NO NONONO risk of it being overtightened

NJeed some advice please guys

How long have you tested the vannishing card for by itself?

few hours on furmark and 3d mark

what's weird is I can revive the card by loosening the waterblock then re-seating it ...

it just goes away again soon after .. no matter whic PCIE slot it is fitted in
