Ended up buying this today its a 2006 car with 27k on the clock

So far I'm loving it, such an awesome sound from the i6 and it really does handle well I thought it would be good but didn't expect it to be as good as it is plenty of feedback though the car something I missed from the A3 and the runflats are not as bad as everyone makes out at least for me anyway

any one else had one of these ? it has to be one of more underated hot hatches in recent years

I own one too and I couldn't disagree more about the run flats. Makes the ride bumpy and the road noise from them drives me insane.

It's also fast - but it just doesn't feel it. The engine is so smooth and linear it robs the sense of speed until you nail it past a car in 2nd gear, hit 4k RPM - vanos - exhaust valve opens >>>>

The thing that I love the most coming from a 270bhp FWD car to a similar powered RWD car is the ability to launch the thing from a standstill with little wheel spin, just acceleration.

It's a heavy car and to me it feels heavy. Feedback is something i'm still not decided on, maybe it's just because i'm not 100% confident in really pushing it yet or maybe its the runflats.

I've noticed the road noise but it's still quieter than the a3 was!
But the ride seems fine to me but I guess it depends on what you were used to previously
What tyres have you got on the goodyears ?

I've got run flats on my 5 and have no issue with them either. I moved from a nissan navara so may be not the best judge of noise and comfort though!

Nice car. Good to see a one series that doesn't say 118d on the back of it! There are about 6 on my road.

My friend just bought a 2007 130i M Sport and Im in agreement about the AWESOME sound from the straight six. He has spoken to me at length about the more usable power at lower revs compared with his early E46 328ci.

Never really liked the shape of these, the 123 coupe looks a lot nicer.

IIRC the 130s weren't too popular at the time due to being not as practical it's competitors and far more expensive brand new.

Its got a mofo of an engine though.

I thought it was compulsary to have 118d on the back, just like it's become compulsary to have 320d on the back on a 3 series all of a sudden.

118d drivers, theyre the new R5GTT drivers, they have to "race" everything that moves, every journey is a last ditch, devil may care, qualifying attempt.
