Silly Fast 120mm Fan

Hi folks,

My Lian Li EX-332B only has a 1000RPM fan in it, and it's functioning as the sole intake fan in my case, hence hugely high temps inside. So I need to replace it with a proper "man fan". 120mm of course, but something seriously fast.

I'm honestly not that bothered about noise unless it's going to be stupidly loud. I just need something that's really going to pull some air in and throw it into the case properly. Will need to have a standard connector too I guess so I can hook it up easily.

Thanks for any suggestions.

So far I'm looking at:

Sharkoon Silent Eagle 2000 120mm Fan - 3/4 Pin
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-006-SH&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=4

since it's 2000RPM.

Cheers,

I am currently looking at getting the Gentle Typhoon 1850rpm or the 1450rpm, apparently they shift a lot of air and are near quiet.

I love the idea of the venom but am worried about noise. I wear headphones so im not that fussed :p but I wouldnt want it to be any louder than the Freezer 64 pro HS fan which is a 2300 92mm fan.

Scythe GT's are best for heatsinks and radiators rather than as case fans, they dont shift as much air at the same rpm as other fans but do it with a lot more static pressure which is important when pushing air through restrictions like fins.

I have a Scythe Ultra Kaze 3000 Fan. Shifts about 133 CFM and 46db on Full Bore. Is that 'Man enough' for ya?

Got mine on a controller, purrs away quite happily at 1800rpm, if I need more 'Air', I just crank it up and put the Headphones on! LOL

N.b. Its thicker than a standard 120, and comes in at 38mm.

Cheers folks!

I'm slightly concerned about the width of the thing as it has to fit inside the Lian-Li front intake panel.

I imagine that the Scythe Kaze Jyuni 1900RPM Slip Stream 120mm Fan is a standard width?

If so I think that sounds like the one to go with. It'll be pushing air through various levels of crap inside the HDD cage in the front and past to the HSF, so sounds like it should be a good option.

Cheap as chips considering their impact on temps tbh so if this one doesn't do the job then I'll try something else.

Any more comments before I order?

Cheers!

I got one coming myself, but bought it from R5GTT in the members market.

it won't actually be going inside my case.

I have a coolermaster ATCS840, which has an option box thingy you mount over the rear of the pci slots to draw air away from the gpu, the fan mounts inside this plastic box.

its a good fan, with high cfm(air flow)

What about a dremel to remove as much flow restriction as you can before fitting the fan??

60mm delta screamer now that was a real mans fan :)

I once made the mistake of buying a case with 3 x 80mm delta screamers fitted.
The guy on the phone warned me they were loud, "no problem" I said
Regretted it when they arrived though lol.

oh and the 60mm cant surely be louder than the 120mm Screamer can it ?

Enermax Everest 120mm fan, 12Db and 46.1CFM of airflow, at that noise level thats not bad! use several of them in my system and they are as much as makes no difference totally inaudible, breathing is louder! :D only problem is stupid temperature controlled RPM.
