Just a quick guide on how to turn your iPhone (or iPad) into a portable tv.

First of all, go to http://www.tvcatchup.com/ and click signup. Set up a username and password, etc.

Now go to http://iphone.tvcatchup.com or ipad.tvcatchup..... on your phone/ipad

Magic.

Best thing about this is you can stream basically most freeview channels over 3G aswell as wifi.

Hope this helps a few people that wasn't aware of this. :p

Isn't everyone aware of this :p

Half the channels on iPad not been working for the last few weeks.. things like dave, virgin 1 etc

Thanks for this. Is the footage live? I assume it's just a transcoded Freeview stream?

It's a few seconds to a few minutes delayed over 'live' TV.

Don't rely on it for anything important to watch though, it was dreadful during the World Cup as it was getting hammered. They may have sorted out whatever bandwidth\server issues they had now though.
