Can I sign up for this t-mob/orange thing yet?

I hope something decent comes of this, Ive been all over the place and tried speed test and my hspda never reads more than 0.03 to 0.40Mbps its dire. I can load webpages at a push on HSPDA!!!. damn t-mobile:mad:

Blimey, download an app called antenna, and see where the closest one too you is, cause I am surrounded by building and tree and still get around 1mb, and standing next to the closest i get over 2.
Might be something else wrong.

Yeah I have that app, I check it everywhere I go it never goes above 0.5Mbps which i saw once. in my home its more like 0.02 or 0.03Mbps. :/. the nearest mast is apparently only down the road quater of mile away.

I just ran a test in my room and have 4 out of 5 bars of signal, results:

Download 0.02Mbps
Upload 1Mbps <<WTF WTF WTF

Definitely something strange going on there then mate, which I wouldn't say is going to change under orange. Maybe repair needed?

Is there any way to test HSPDA quality of service on T-Mobile before committing?

I've checked their online coverage chart which tells me I should get 'very good' coverage for 2G and 3G, but then other people are telling me not to rely on this. I've ordered a PAYG SIM but I don't know thatI will be able to check 3G on this.

I suppose if I order online and coverage is arse, I can always fall back on the cooling off period.

Apologies for the hijack. OP I was under the impression this was now automatic for 2G but 3G is different.

Its a payg sim, they are free arent they?

Yes, just ordered one. But I was asking whether PAYG sims will show me 3G reception or only 2G, and if this was the best method to check coverage. I could just wait and find out when the SIM arrives, but I'm curious now.

Signed up and working - now getting signal everywhere in my house using T-Mobile signal, 2G only (which as far as I'm aware is all this scheme is covering for now) but it's a vast improvement as I don't have to leave my phone is certain places to receive texts and calls - woopwoop!

The orange customer sign up page is broken for me after the first step of entering your number, anyone been successful today?

You should get 3G services on the sim no problem

I've succesfully signed up through the Orange page - took a fair few attempts mind. Working a treat now that I've turned 3G off on the phone, stops trying to use the miniscule 3G/2G signal I get here on Orange and switches to a nice stable 2G t-mobile signal. Win!!
