GTX 580 next week??

According to that website: The average gain for the GTX 580 is around 17 percent over its Fermi predecessor and a whopping 45 percent better than the 5870.

Obviously not a surprise to some people :p

Well done if it's a hard launch :-)

Still very dubious at anything coming from 'Chinese' sites regardless of whether it's true or not.

This is just the GTX480 that they were going to sell last year(when did it come out again?) They then had the bright idea of making a cheaper slower version of it and selling it for the same money then selling the full version this time around, In a sense selling it twice lol.

I know I know i'm talking balls but you know what I mean.

You do realise that most, if not all video card leaks are from Chinese sites, because a lot of the cards are made there.

this is annoying :(

my new rig will be be good to go by the weekend except for no gfx card :o

god damn you ocuk get the 580/6970 in stock now :D

I would imgine that 45% is based on the haven benchmark as in normal games the GTX480 is only 7% to 15% quicker. Still I bet there glad they have finally got around to releasing the card that was meant to come out last October. I can't wait to see how this bad boy compares to the rest of AMD's line up.

I think it will be interesting to see what happens as they refine the Fermi process over time as we now seem to be getting where it should have been a year ago.

That being said, AMD have now had a *very* long time to refine and design their next gen chip - I'll be pretty disappointed if the 69xx series doesn't show a significant price/performance leap.

Well yes if this was a thread talking about the AMD 69xx series then yes i would also hope to see some nice gains from the AMD chip aswell, not sure why we are talking about this though.
