Quick heads up there been a leak of OS6. Loaded it up on mine and im very impressed so far.

Head over to crackberry for download link

Just stuck os6 on my 9700 very nice peice of software seems nice and snappy so far, the new menu system is going to take some getting used to and its a pitty theyve lumped sms and mms into 1 option in the firewall meaning both crunchsms and the inbuilt message app alert me to txts

Have you guys noticed a memory leak in the new OS6?

My free space went down from 67mb to 47mb overnight and only after a battery pull it went back up to 67mb

I've had it on since last night and my memory hasn't moved, its possible it may be one of your apps not being os6 compatible

Just had my 9700 replaced because my old one broke after 5 months, so this is nice to wake up to this morning, new phone and a new OS to try out :D

Anyone know if they will do this for the blackberry 8520? i have seen that they did it with the 3g version the 9300

does this do an upgrade or a clean install so to speak ?

You need to do a clean install...back up your data in desktop manager then do the upgrade.
what about bbm contacts ?

What about them??..you should be using remote backup to backup your contacts...it will be in your BBM options, you will need to use an email in order to use remote backup...i remotely back up my contacts with my BB with my gmail account.

Nope...the 8520 will not be getting OS6 as the hardware doesnt support it.

Just letting you guys know that this isnt official, its a leaked beta OS which might give you issues when you have loaded it up ie certain 3rd party apps may no longer work.

It's definitely very nice, smooth and quick, but it seems to eat the battery a lot quicker!

I'm finding the opposite my batterys hardly drained at all since this morning and ive been using it just as much as usual

Just got it installed on my Pearl 3G, it looks very nice, just setting my home screen and favourites. I am just hoping the browser is a significant improvement.

The browser is a vast improvement on os5, not quite as good as the Android browser but still very useable. I can see my T-mobile data usage will be increasing. At present my T-mobile online account is showing 16 pages of data usage with 3 days left of this month to go!!
