Combined Folding/Bully Biffa Event!

OcUK Folding@Home Combined Folding Event Type Jobby!

What?
Starting at 0000 on the 18th of December, as many Team 10 users as possible will switch some, many or all of their clients to Stomp_Monster for a period of 14 days.

Why?
To see if we can get a single user up to 1 Million PPD. And for a laugh!

No really, why?
As above. Not only will it hopefully be a bit of fun, it brings the team together in a joint venture. I will also be personally donating £2 to charity for each 1 Million points Stomp_Monster crunches in those 14 days. I have preliminarily chosen the Pande Group.

I am not expecting anyone else to donate, this is just my way of making the event a worthy pusuit!

Rules?
No rules at all.

Simply switch over as many clients as you wish to Stomp_Monster on the 18th of December. You may fold for the full 14 days or just part of that time. This event is open to everyone.

I have decided to count all the points Stompy has earned for my donation to the Pande Group. For the sake of a couple of quid it's not worth trying to work out how many points Stompy started with on the 18th! I will use the total points as reported by EOC on the 5th January at 2100. This means any points dumped in Stompy's name after the end of the event wont be wasted.

There is a distinct possibility some of us may get a WU in Stompy's name very close to the end of the event, or even the day after if you aren't paying attention. May I suggest setting all your clients to use -oneunit on the 1st Janurary to avoid this. Please, please do not delete any WUs if this happens. It is bad for the science! Your points will still be counted if they are dumped by the 5th Jan deadline.

Proposal 2 sounds good to me, I was in the top ten until all this new blood came along!

Some sort of power user name might be useful in the future, or if we ever get a stomp monster.

Heck all this new blood took me out of the top 20, even with almost doubling production.

Still have a few days to go, but looking good so far for participation. I think this will be fun. Will be an epic PPD too!

Sounds ok though Mr Biffa might not be in 100% approval, lets decide on some definates in the next few days and i can plan ahead for christmas crunching/folding

I'd be happy to put some hardware towards Proposal 2. If we decide on the name I can get folding right away so we can get our bonuses when everyone else joins in.

The organisational skills astound me

Of course I don't give a monkeys you ninnys, I was pullin yer leg, although anyone whos been here long enough knows that me sticking to one project too long gives me itchy feet.

So I've been top of the leaderboard for a while now and built up fairly substantial lead, I may, or may not, switch some of my kit back to BOINC if they can stay up long enough.

I'm probably going to keep the cpu's on folding and put the gpu's onto boinc, be interesting seeing if boinc on the gpu's affects the folding stuff much.

Ironically its the other way around that I used to have it, with BOINC on the CPU's and Folding on the GPU's in the olde days, but I think this would work better

But nothing definite... yet. For now I have to get Gemini up to max output stable, and sell some stuff to pay some Christmas bills..

Of course not.

The aim is a bit vague, are you planning on outputting me for PPD or monthly output or..? Whats the target? You could go for outright points but that might take a while if I keep everything on folding.

What would be interesting is if I switch the gpu's to boinc and the CPU performance of folding actually increases! Then my production might hit 350K PPD Its nearly 300K now, well according to HFM.NET
