I used to use a Belkin Nostromo n50 many years ago.
It was quite handy having the option to record macro's b4 a lot of the gaming keyboards really came along with that feature built in.
Although I never really got used to it for a keyboard replacement as it only had 2 row's of keys and just used to use it sat next to my keyboard.
When Belkin released the Nostromo n52, I really didn't have a need for it so never bothered to upgrade.
Looking at the web Belkin have upgraded the n52 too the Nostromo n52te , which the Razer Nostromo looks exactly like (sort of looks like the Razor Nostromo is a rebadged Belkin)
Im sure the extra row of key's would make it better , and much easier to use than the old n50, the 4 central keys have arrows indicating they would be used to replace the WASD keys on the keyboard (like the n50 had) but the extra row of key's would make it far more versatile, it looks like it would be comfortable under your left hand too.
As a companion to a laptop it might prove useful, but personally Im not sure I could bring myself to give up using a full keyboard.
It would be interesting to try one really, as I still can't deside on a gaming keyboard and now you have brought this to my attention and I've looked at it in more detail it could be handy and a cheaper alternative to a full gaming keyboard, looking at the Belkin Nostromo n52te.
Still I'd bet it would just end up sat next too my keyboard not being fully used as the n50 did.
I guess thats a brief history of the Nostromo, not sure it will help much
*EDIT*
Just noticed that OcUK actually sell both the
Belkin n52te @ £32.99 and the
Razer Nostromo @ £49.98 , thats £16.99 more for the Razer , can't say I can work out what makes it worth that much more.
