well I have dropped the idea of the fan controller on the Corsair 600t for now as I'm not sure how to plug it in :( **DOES ANYONE KNOW**

here are some pics of the build...

ok here's the build, I'm **** at taking pics so no ******** about pics quality :p

first thing I did was strip the old pc down and get the GPU, DVD burner, HD etc from it...

***YES I BUILT THE PC IN MY DAUGHTERS ROOM SO I KNOW IT'S GOT HANNAH MONTANA PICS IN THE BACKGROUND AND BEADSPREAD SO NO COMMENTS EITHER *** :D

This thing is HUGE

everything laid out to start

MOBO unpacked....

and so we begin.....

Q9550 chip in the new mobo

DSCF0022.jpg

back plate in the mobo for the cooler....the cooler is 800g heavy and very tall but it needs the back place to stop the mobo breaking under it's weight

DSCF0021.jpg

shot of the heat pipes - you can see 8 of the pipes but there are another 3 internal making this a 11 pipe monster cooler

DSCF0025.jpg

They give you the most stupid "wrench" to try and screw in the spring mounted screws and other wee bits...this took me almost 20 mins to get 4 screws in

Wire Central :shake:

this took me ages to work out what went where as there are a few LEDs in the casse fans to get power to

DSCF0032.jpg

DSCF0038.jpg

more bloody wires...what goes where???

now we're getting somewhere.....everything in and it boots to BIOS without too much trouble...

DSCF0041-1.jpg

HA...knew that was too easy....error on CPU fan which threw me a bit but then I realised that as I'm running the cooler as passive (no fan blowing onto the cooler) I don't have a cpu fan needing plugged in at this stage

DSCF0045.jpg

finally got it up and running

DSCF0042.jpg

DSCF0047.jpg

couple of shots showing the white LEDs in the case fans

DSCF0044.jpg

just need to tidy up the wires and that's it done

after the build I decided I'm moving my dvd drives to SATA as the old IDE white ribbon wire looks ****ing naff and makes a big thick sheet of resistance for air flow from the fans

needing braiding to tidy up the wires but that's my new-ish rig at home and up and running

next stage is overclocking the chip and getting a fan for the cooler as even a monster passive fan this size it's not going to keep that cool when the chip is overclocked

....finally lost my first build cherry :D

nice pics...ive got the 600t and think its a very nice case......

did u get the fan controller wired up?

if not the 4 connectors you are holding in your hand on 1 of the pics......

are the outputs from the fan controller and they have a plastic piece that pulls off to reveal the connector......on these you connect what ever fans you want to control......

also you should have another cable coming from where the 4 cables come from with a 4 pin molex connector on......this cable is the power cable for the fan controller.......just plug this into your molex from the power supply.....if you dont do this the fans connected to the controller will not operate....

if you plug only the 2 200mm fans in and the 120mm case fans onto the controller, dont expect much in ways of spped change or sound change....as the fans are quite low speed anyway and will not make much difference....

any problems give us a shout......

cheers chris

git @ Haj :p

Chris I've got the molex connected so there is power but I'm not sure where to plug in the cables for the controller :(

here's the mOBO so where on here do I need to plug in the controller leads? I'm a bit dim at this stuff :p

ok just had a look at teh controller leads again and I removed the bit to reveal connectors but they are only 2 pin???

do I need the bit I removed to show the 2 pins or what? lol...sorry but I'm not sure

if you refer to the pic where your holding the 4 connectors and quoting

"more bloody wires...what goes where???"

these are from the fan controller....there are small plastic pieces you take off to reveal the actual connector 2 pin connectors if i remember......onto these you plug any fan onto.....

they are only 2 pins as they are voltage controlled and not pwm controlled.....

also they do not plug onto the main board......

they plug directly into the fan cables from the fans you wish to control.....

these....if I get 2 of them could I use one on the cooler and one to replace the rear exhaust fan on the 600t case

The Graphite Series 600T is a mid-tower in height, but inside it’s positively cavernous. Easily accommodate even the longest graphics cards in the industry due to the reconfigurable hard drive bays. The increased space behind the motherboard tray allows clean, uncluttered cable routing. Up to six hard drive caddies, each of which can accommodate SSDs and standard mechanical disks, sit below the four 5.25" tool-free optical drive bays. If that weren’t enough, you can remove the top panel 200mm fan and install a 240mm radiator and dual 120mm fans for a quick watercooling upgrade.

- Twin 200mm cooling fans with white LEDs for excellent cooling
- Eight expansion slots provides you flexibility for multiple graphics card solutions
- Unique cable routing holes guarantees you a clean and clutter-free installation
- Integrated fan controller, for up to four fans, gives you the choice of noise vs. performance
- Motherboard compatibility: ATX and MicroATX
- Front I/O Ports: USB2.0 x 4, USB3.0 x 1, FireWire x 1, Audio x 2
- Cooling: 2 x 200mm white LED fans
- Tool-free optical drive installation makes building your system faster than ever
- CPU backplate cutout makes upgrading your CPU heatsink easy
- 2.5” and 3.5” hard drive compatibility for up to 6 drives — straight out of the box!
- Two year warranty with Corsair’s world-class customer service and technical support

This is what it says about the 600t case but no mention of the size of the rear fan...do you measure the rear fan from corner to corner? or how

the rear fan is 120mm so this would be ok...not sure it would work with the fan controller..........unless pwm fans still work with voltage control too...

just read they do work with 3 pin connectors so should be ok on the fan controller
