I'm out in town with the wife and looking at saucepans. We've got john Lewis and debenhams vouchers to put towards a set. Probably around £150 max.

How are your experiences with the above pans?

Look at pan - it look good?
Look at price - it okay?
Look at wife - she hot?
I don't know where I'm going with this.
Just buy a pan!

Look at pan, can you cook stuff in it?

No? It's not a saucepan....

Yes? Buy it.....

Honestly, as long as it's stainless steel, there shouldn't be a problem, regardless of type or brand.

I like anolon, steller 6000 range is very nice nice as sell, and comes in more shapes/diff handles and are induction ready, if that's important.

Don't forget set of plastic utensils, look at label and get high temperature ones.

oh and meyre is anolon sort of.

Thats the way you buy rubbish and then find stuff sticks and makes it hard to cook.

Oh dear.

Look at the pan. Think of the things you tend to cook. Will they fit? Then buy.

Good way to end up with a set of crap pans.

I like Infinite Circulon, have several of them now and would highly recommend them.
Most places that sell them also sell tubs of anodized pan cleaner. I used to think it was a gimmick, but it's actually very good so might be worth picking up a tub of that too.
You won't need to use it every time so it will go a long way, but I give them a scrubbing with that every so often and it keeps them looking good.

I've got Anolon non-stick pans. They dissolve in the dishwasher and don't like metal utensils. I wouldn't trust the rubberised handles in the oven, even though they say they are oven safe. Buy them if you're happy to treat them with kid gloves. Also, the small milk pan doesn't stand up on its base unless there's something in it, which is REALLY irritating.

My non-stick Tefals are the toughest ones I've had to date. They can take some punishment

Raymond Blanc by Anolon Professional Hard Anodized if you don't have a induction hob, any desire or plan to get one and you'd like pans with glass lids.

Raymond Blanc by Anolon Clad if you do have an induction hob or plan to get one, want glass lids on the pans and don't need or want a non-stick interior.

Meyer Infinite Circulon if you do have an induction hob or plan to get one and don't mind having metal lids for your pans.

And I believe John Lewis currently have the Meyer Anolon, 4 Piece Set on Clearance for £100, but I'd go for the Raymond Blanc set myself.

And as AcidHell2 has already mentioned, budget for some silicone or plastic utensils if you only have a set metal ones. You don't want to knacker your new toys within the first few weeks, or do a Johnny69.

You can't stick any anodized pan in the diswasher, it even says that.
Which pans did you have i assumed you meant meyer anolon professional but they have metal handles.
Also don't really need kid gloves just buy the right utensils and use them as normall, just don't dishwash.

I've got a couple of the Anolon Professional Hard Anodized pans and they are great! Nice and heavy, hold the heat well and weren't too expensive! Would definitely recommend them to anyone! :D

Just no. We have stainless steels pans, the handles are flimsy, they aren't non stick so can at times be a pain to get clean and don't have even heat distribution.

Thanks for the other replies, just about to read through them
