so Ive just finished putting my new build together, as follows

2500k
Asus P8P67 PRO
4gb XMS3

to add to my old

5850
Corsair HX850 modular
antec 300

went to power on for the first time, and nothing comes up on the monitor.
Fans all power up properly, just no Video output (DVI). This is without my hardrives connected for now as I wanted to get to bios and put it into RAID before it had a chance to screw my array.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated

The obvious things really... check you have all the power leads connected properly including the 8 pin additional CPU and the 5850 Pci-e power.

Check the GPU is seated properly.
Check the Ram is seated properly and then try just one stock of Ram. I find the Ram quite awkward to insert in the P8P67.

just went back and triple checked, everything seated properly, 8pin, 24pin and PCIe 6 pin(x2) all in place.
LED status: just one LED lit and its green, its the one in line with the bottom PCIe slot, about 1½" past the end of the slot.

also the RAM is in slots A2 and B2, as per the manual.
Will go and try with one stick now, am I right in thinking I should remove the stick in B2 (leaving the one in A2)?

Wouldn't say its a dead cpu yet. It is a shame you have no LCD on the pro to diagnose the fault.

Id unplug everything and bread board the mainboard and see how it goes.

alright, getting there...
moved ram back to slots A1 and B1, and I now have VGA output (with both sticks in :)), however it says "CPU fan error".
My fans are all on a fan controller (scythe Kaze master ace).... do I need to move a fan to one of the mobo headers in order to get this thing started?

also it seems odd that it was my ram being in slots A2+B2 that was the problem, given that the manual specifically recommends this config. (page 2-11)

Glad you got it going :)

yeah moved one of my apaches to the CPU fan header and all is now seeming well.
@ Speed: Will check that out once I'm up to date with drivers and such.
Cheers everyone, that was very nerv racking! seems to all be good now, even found my RAID, and am now sat in windows reinstalling ATI drivers. coretemp said 81 degrees when i got to OS :( , then I remembered I'd need a newer version :D
