Hi there

These are ideal for anyone who really is fearing current SB issues as if you do use ports 2-5 on your SB mainboard you can buy a SATA card and use that instead for trouble free operation.

However if it was myself, I'd not bother as I'd have to be very unlucky to have any issue with Sandybridge, but we understand some of you will try to protect your data as much as possible, so this is a solution and not an expensive one.

Asus U3S6 is crap, the sata drives run slower than intel's sata2 speeds, its an awful piece of hardware that needs to be withdrawn.

Your point is?

That card is not in this thread, so why are you posting something that is completely irrelevent to this thread?

TBH i think guys at oc hq have done very well not to lose their rag, they didt cause the problem...in fact its not even a problem is it really just a PITA...any ho good show people.

On topic does the 5 port need add power like floppy pwr conecter

Don't even get me started! Lol

Anyways, iirc it does yes but will have to check tomorrow to be 100% sure

I think that's pretty reasonable, however I would caution people against thinking it would be acceptable for OcUK to adopt the "Not our fault" attitude. If you sell something you're responsible for the quality of it, it's not acceptable to blame your supply chain.

The one and only opportunity that I've seen OcUK avoiding to shirk their responsibilities is where NathWraith said they'd sort out full systems and replace the motherboard for customers. I'm impressed as a significantly less expensive route would be to require the customer to ship the motherboard only. So OcUK haven't done anything wrong here as far as I can see.

I agree with this. Well done guys. At least these cards can be used as insurance if something were to go wrong. At least there are alternatives! :D

You guys have a sick sense of humour :p

Might have to order one, two of my SATA ports have conked out and there's no point RMAing the board until the new ones are in circulation.
