Any thoughts on these? Will need to upgrade my laptop soon, was originally thinking MacBook Pro but now it's coming to the crunch, I think I'd maybe prefer to save £700 or so.

Looks tasteful and solidly built on the Sony website, I'd be interested to know if that is actually the case. Going to be using it for internet, bit of gaming, maybe watching a few DVDs or BluRays.

On mine which I had last Year and returned I found the quality poor for the price of the laptop.

I found the chassis to have some movement and makes a creak noise when picked up, also were the DVD drive was the plastic was very flimsy and could see myself breaking the casing, the mouse button made awful cheap sound and one of the keys failed to work after a few days.

I recently had the money to get a macboook but the base 13" wasnt good enough for me as they have a rubber issue Ive also been looking for a alternative for a lower price as I decided to show my desktop some loving and add my gfx to it

I have a Sony Vaio F13 and I am very impressed with it. If you have any questions let me know?

Cheers bro. I guess my main concern is with build quality - I have a Dell atm and it feels very shoddy - buttons rattling, bulges near the speakers etc.

If you game at all, hows the keyboard? Obviously not going to be as good as proper keyboard but is it usable?

I had a Dell XPS before and I and got rid of it because it kept getting too hot.

I really like the keyboard on the Sony, its not like normal laptop style. Its very similar to that of the ones on the MBP's. I have not problems using it for gaming. The best thing about it is the screen, I have yet to see a laptop screen which is better or equal to this.

Have you had a look at a Lenovo Thinkpad? They're ugly as hell but they're great machines and are much cheaper than MBPs. In my opinion, they're the best laptops around.
