I tried to mount my old cm v8 heatsink over a q6600 on a crappy hp board, i could not get it on tight enough so i decided to take it off again, this was when i had a problem, i managed to undo the 4 screw half way, then they chose to seize up and with the design of the v8 it is hard to access the screws so i ended up wrecking the screw heads ;( i tried pliers but they just slip, i have ordered a new board but my problem is, how do i get the q6600 off this board in one piece? tia, jamie

Had a quick google for images as I've never seen one fitted, it looks like you may be able to drill the heads off the screws, the cooler should then just come right off. If it was me I'd find some way to get that sucker out of there unharmed.:D

When i was putting the heatsink on my motherboard it wasnt clipping in right, and was going to just fall off. Just kept at it and luckly it cliped in. But in saying that my motherboard is a Gigabyte which i dont think is overly good but it was cheap and could get it that day.

You know of any good boards for a Q6600? Want to get as much memory as possable and a good few free slots for the likes of G-cards and such.
