You could buy 2 6970's and still have enough money left to buy a couple of games, you could even buy 2 6950's flash them to make them 6970's, buy a new 23" monitor and a copy of Crysis 2. I think I'll pass

Was there really a need for a 5th 6990 thread? Really?

On the other hand, you'd need to be officially sectioned under the mental health act to buy one of those. Even if you don't have a crossfire motherboard, it'd still be cheaper to buy one, then 2 6950s and flash them, than one 6990...

£570 = £475 excluding VAT = $769

No frickin' way these cards cost that much at launch. $699 would be pushing it.

Radeon 6970 is $339-359 and two of these would be just about that.

Radeon 6950 is only $269-279 (2GB version) meaning that the price of HD6990 should be somewhere between the two Crossfire configurations.

$649 was what I expected a few months ago, even if AMD decided to raise the bar, it wouldn't be $750+.

wow, thats a lot of money, that will put the 590GTX sky high

the 6950 x2 is looking better and better for £169 cheaper!

I can't understand how they can have a launch tonight on a £570 card when there has been no reviews, specs, benchmarks or anything. Who would pay that sort of money for summit when they don't even know how good it is. weird
