***The failure rate of components ***

Interesting read, was surprised to see PNY at the top of the chart for gpus, I don't think OCUK stock them at all do they? 10% failure rate for the 5970 is a little bit scary I think.

my ocuk gtx 570 was a pny, it died after 3 weeks

didn't get a pny one back from rma though strangely enough

Ballpark 1 in 50 chance of receiving dud hardware. Statistically that's not bad. One big issue is that hardware doesn't always fail immediately - it might only act up 6-12 months down the line, a source of major confusion and heartache for end-users.

I wouldn't worry, 8igdave. In the grand scheme of things that is still low, it's some way off one in ten so don't sweat it. Even if everything goes belly up at least you can be safe in the knowledge that Corsair has one of the best customer service records going. The only one I can think of that is probably better still is Logitech.

Surprised at corsair xms3 ram, pretty disgusting when its around 10% and their psus are pretty bad.. the two things I bought for them! well I guess their customer service makes up for it :)

Then you have a 92.4% chance of being a happy-chappy :)

You have no idea how much of a pessimist I am. As far as i'm concerned my pc is doomed. I've already had a seasonic fail on me, this one doesn't stand a chance in comparison!

Maybe their customer service is so good because it gets used so much haha.
