Anyone using a Noctua NH-D14 with Corsair Vengeance RAM?

Now that I've got all the other components sorted I want to change my stock 2600k cooler for something decent.

Ideally I'd like a Noctua NH-D14 but according to their compatibility list it won't fit because of the heat spreaders on my Corsair Vengeance RAM. :(

I've got 2x 4GB in A2 and B2 which leaves the slot closest to the CPU socket empty so I wondered if the Noctua might fit.

If it won't fit then the Thermalright Silver Arrow seems to be the next best choice but I can't find anything on their site about whether this will have the same problem with the heat spreaders.

Can anyone help with either of these questions?

Cheers.

Thats with Ripjaw RAM which I am sure is lower in height than Vengeance.

A Silver Arrow will have the same issues, the only way to get it to fit without any worries is to use RAM like XMS3

silver arrow fits with vengeance ram but only if you using 2 sticks

ive had to move mine into the 2nd and 4th slot as the heatsync covers the first slot.

also had to fit the fans so they are pulling air through the fins rather then pushing

I had a similar problem with a Noctua NH-U12P and my Dominator RAM, fortunately the Dominators heatspreader is designed so that you can remove the top part of the heatspreader if necessary so it fits under the cooler.

I've not got any Vengeance RAM but from the pictures it doesn't look like the same option applies. Shame really for them to drop such a useful feature from their more modern product.

After losing patience with my noisy H60 pump I've decided to try a Noctua NH-D14 instead.

I'm also getting some of the LP Corsair Vengeance RAM mentioned above so that the Noctua will actually fit. :)

I've got a couple of Noctua NF-P14 case fans to put in as well.

I'll be interested to see if all of this helps with the system temps as my 590 is struggling to keep itself cool at the moment.

Corsair Vengeance Low Profile Memory at OCUK

Vengeance Low Profile heat spreaders have a reduced height of 1.03" (26.25mm). They're designed for high-performance systems with extra-large CPU coolers, small form factor system builds, or any other space-constrained application where standard Vengeance memory might not fit.

The Vengeance Low Profile DDR3 memory is designed to meet the memory specification of the Sandybridge 2nd Generation processors and operates at 1.5V. The Special Edition Arctic White Vengeance Low Profile memory modules operate at 1.35V.
