Just seen this on Steam, did a quick search couldn't find another thread.

About the Game
As a member of the strange secret society E.Y.E, you wake up after a fight in which your fellow teammates were killed. E.Y.E, an armed branch of the Secreta Secretorum is attempting a coup against the all-powerful Federation, a coalition of several worlds and planets that rule with an iron fist.

To complicate matters, E.Y.E itself is plagued with its own internal conflicts between the Jian faction and the Culter faction, to which you belong. Your loyalties are torn between Commander Rimanah, your superior and the chief of the Secreta who is a separatist with an unstoppable ambition, and the "Mentor" your friend and instructor. The "Mentor" tries at all costs to unite the two rival factions. In doing so, you are thrust into the middle of a fratricidal war frought with political conspiracies and quests for power in which different groups and megacorporations are implicated.

These troubles set the stage for an attack by an unknown force bent on destroying humankind.

Key features:
Multiplayer co-op modes directly influence solo play, and vice-versa. The limits of solo and multiplayer games are finally left behind.
Psychological and mental trauma management.
25 weapons, different shooting modes, dynamic precision, drilling shots, iron sighting, extended zoom.
Complete hacking system with game play impact
9 devastatingly subtle PSI powers.
More than 20 NPC with non-scripted, fully reactive and efficient AI, endowed with a sense of initiative. Bloody close combat with technical detail. Incredible physical movement realism thanks to Source Engine physics.
Excellent replayability - primary and secondary missions, dynamic environments, non-linear level progression, and random NPC spawn, type and appearance. Death doesn't penalize players: no need to restart the current mission.
Open-level gameplay for hours of fun without reloading.

Looks pretty good, reminds me of deus ex a lot.

The normal € price is a bit too much for a half-blind buy so I'm waiting for a £ or $ based 4-pack to join. Anyone willing to arrange one here?

I've no idea if the game is actually good but :)

Hope there is a demo it looks interesting but if hacking is a pain with a timer then i hope its not mandatory to do hacking because i hate hacking in most games.

We'll I bought it based on positive reviews on the Steam forum as well as the list of sourced of inspiration the team have drawn upon (Syndicate, Blade Runner etc, all good stuff).

First impressions. Very good. Combat is fast and visceral and has that 'Source-y' feel to it. It's visually pretty but nothing next-gen. I haven't seen anything that's made me cover my eyes to stave off the ugly. The maps seem big and well designed and have multiple paths through them.

My only criticisms so far is that it's bloody obtuse. The story is a little confusing and poor translation doesn't help matters. More irritating however are the vagueness of your objectives at times. This is compounded by the hacking which I still haven't got the hang of properly. It relies on picking from five attack virus types to gain control of a system. One attacks taking down the target's health, one scans the target lowering it's defence, one boosts your own defence... Oh yes, the system attacks you at the sane time making it a fight to get each other's health to 0 first. It's... Strange.

Lastly, it's refreshingly hard. Kinda ARMA 2 hard in places. The enemies spawn/reenforce over time making it pretty relentless. There is no quick-save facility, instead you have a finite number of lives/respawns. I have no idea what happens when you run out though. Only problem I've encountered so far is that my missions aborted when I dropped Internet. Luckily I was near the start so didn't lose much progress but conversely I kept all the experience I gained and recovered 2 lives that I'd lost.

It's a quirky (I lied about the 'lastly' bit in the previous paragraph), interesting and unique game from what I have seen so far. To play it feels like a cross between Deus Ex, Mount and Blade and ARMA with a bit of half-life chucked in for good measure. It definitely feels very Syndicate/Deus Ex-y in terms of atmosphere and I'm looking forward to having another crack in a few days when I'll be giving co-op a go. For 13 quid it seems to be worth a punt.

Just been playing this with my housemate co-op LAN.

It's now 6am, which should give you some idea of what I think of it, first time in a couple of years I've sat down to a game at 10pm and 10 minutes later looked outside and thought "oops, it's light again!"

Gameplay wise it's very fun, there's a reasonable variety of weapons, there are various psi skills (which we haven't unlocked yet) and a bunch of other abilities. It also has a lot of RPG elements to it, e.g. leveling stats/skills etc.

I would say it does have a very similar feel to Deus Ex, both with the gritty future/cyberpunky setting, and with the way many objectives seem quite open ended (do you hack the security system/blow it up/bribe an enemy to deactivate it? etc.)

It's also (from what we could tell) got quite a complex story to it, although there is a lot of reading at points.

The hacking is good fun once you get the hang of it, and there's nothing more satisfying than possessing a cop armed with a shotgun and forcing him to blow away all of his buddies who are standing around waiting for you =P (I also thought it was quite clever that you don't have 100% control when you possess someone, they resist/fight back)

We found a few bugs in the co-op, the main one being that if both players talk to the same NPC at the same time, you both get stuck in the conversation and can't exit it. Another one I found was while you are in the hacking screen, it's actually an overlay which you can resize using a tab on the bottom right corner of the screen. DO NOT DO THIS! If you resize it at all, the buttons disappear, and you can't exit the hacking screen, you have to come right out of the game =P.

All in all, I would highly recommend it, it's only been out a couple of days, so hopefully any bugs will be fixed in the near future, and it's good fun, especially for only £13 =)

From the gameplay vids it looks like an online shooter. Very good shooting mechanics (from what i see but havent played it but reminiscent of bf2142).
Has an interesting unique artistic design to it. But still uhmm Deus Ex is a singleplayer rpg-fps with a strong story. EYE seems to be a nice scifi run n gun shooter....

That's basically what the EYE campaign is, it just happens to have a co-op mode as well (ok, the story may not be quite as strong, we're only up to mission 2/3 so far.)

Hrmm. Do you get different ways of taking on a mission? Player choices which affect the story? What kind of rpg upgrades? All i saw was lots of shooting. Looked quite repetitive (which is fine for a shooter which is what i think this is).

You do get different ways of taking on the missions.

Not sure about the player choices affecting the story, we haven't really gotten far enough into it to tell yet.

RPG upgrades includes the usual stuff like stat/skill points, you earn money which you can use to buy new weapons, implants, spells etc. You can research various items and technologies you've encountered.

There are also things like mental trauma, if you see a lot of team mates getting killed, scary monsters etc.

The videos do seem to focus on just the shooter mechanics, and don't really show much of the RPG element, which is a shame, but there's a load more info here: http://eye.streumon-studio.com/index.php?page=game_details&moreinfos=1#moreinfos

Im enjoying it a lot it does have this Deus ex effect as posted but more of the Older Deus Ex which i enjoy though it does seem online isnt working well tried Coop was laggy and buggy as we all got stuck in one room wasnt good! But Does anyone want to some coop? I need a good hacker for one mission :)

Just been playing through a bit more. Holy cow this game is resource hungry. Playing on my laptop, and I can run most source mods at 1920x1080 with most settings high. Playing this currently on 1024x700 (or whatever it is), everything set to low, and it still chugs away in busy firefights!
