Put everything together (finally) and although the pc powers up I get "no video input" message on monitor.

I'm pretty sure the GFX card is in ok, but AA I say this is my first build.

Any suggestions?

Do you have onboard graphics you could try?

Is the monitor set to the correct source for the connection you're using?

Do you have a different cable you could try?

Power connectors firmly connected to the graphics card?

Have you remembered to plug graphics card addional power connector in?

If your using a modular psu are all the cables plugged into psu properly?

I've put two red 6 pin pci things into gtx 570 card then into the red sockets on my power supply. Is this right?

If you got the Lepa PSU then that's correct.

Have you tried anything I posted above?

The Asus P8Z68-V (I assume you bought that) can make use of the onboard GPU so try one of the video connections from the motherboard.

Have you checked what R088ieS86 says?

Have you checked all your other connections to make sure they're securely in place?

I don't believe I have onboard graphics.

I can't see any option on the monitor to change source

Power connectors are firmly fastened onto graphics card.

It looks like the graphics card is in the lower a lot, would that matter?

Your answers fill me with confidence ;)

The 4/8 pin connector is in the top left corner of the motherboard when it's fitted inside the case.

You should be using the 8 pin connector.

Trust me, I'm completely new to this hence the clueless answers :(

Yes, defo the black 8 pin connector on top left of motherboard

You will have onboard, have a look where the back of the motherboard sticks out of the back of the case (where the I/O shield is installed) and you will see a DVI, VGA and HDMI connector.
