Well... after killing her so quickly, she returned to me today with a freshly rebuilt engine :D

But I have to drive like a granny for 1-2,000 miles :(

In stock form they don't much like cornering hard at high rpm... oops.

So... they stuck a Cosworth sump baffle in there to eliminate the problem. Then at the 1,000 mile service, it'll be getting an oil cooler too.

She'll be staying with me a while...

What's new?

Crankshaft, big end bearings, main bearings, MAF, piston rings and cosworth sump baffle.

Oil cooler to come at 1,000 mile service...

Decided to keep it close to stock, with a few tweaks that could let me use it as intended :)

2,000 miles before I can experience a track in it... good job I'm treating myself to the JP Motorsport OCUK day :D

Nice car.

Awesome wheels

Delicious :)

Cheers guys :)

Looks to be in very good condition.

She is - wasn't easy to find an example like this... you wouldn't believe the sills / arches! Immaculate!

whats that unit in the top centre of the dash with four buttons?

Loving the OZ wheels :)

Superlegeras?

But of course :)

Chavs car?

Mad?

Nice example, even if the rims dont suit imo

To be fair... most of the ones I see round here... I would say yes, chavs car... this one, urrrmmm... nope :p

To be a chavs car it's missing a few important bits:

- Aftermarket wing
- 4.5" torque-killing fart of an exhaust
- BOV
- HID conversion
- Stick-on carbon
- ****ed suspension
etc... :p

despite their age and image, these cars can still look great. this one proves it, though i think i'd prefer a smaller wheel.

I'm not sold on the rims either... looks wise.

Feel wise, they're really rather impressive, very well constructed set of wheels. A set of 16s came with it too - but they're pretty tatty so will be staying track wheels.

It's not a high priority for me - but further down the line I will likely be replacing them.

Or perhaps the Oz's will end up stock gold... I'm not normally one for gold wheels, but the scoob is the only car I know of that doesn't look kak with them...

There are a few sets of wheels I rather like, tend to be the flat-spoke design like I had on the supercharged '5:

Ultralite Atec WP789 (my favourites looks-wise, I think the dark gold/bronze would look awesome on my car but they're a bit heavy):
