Recommend me a steering wheel and pedals for under £100?

Guys I need some assistance please, it's my nephew's birthday coming up, he loves racing and I'd like to buy him a steering wheel and pedals.

I myself have the G27 but that's a bit expensive as a gift, he's only young ... and he's not my child!

So I was looking at spending around £100 or less, I've heard the Logitech Driving Force GT is the best for that sort of price - is this true?

What about the Thrustmaster F430?
Over at

, they rate it higher than GT, and I can find it for £90.

I'm considering my first wheel, too, so I'm wondering which to buy.

I got my DFGT new for £40 in Argos but used a £40 voucher sort of thing form southern electrics.

Hmm id play safe and get the dfgt its proven to be s decent all rounder.

I took a look on Racedeparment and the general consensus was the F430 over the DFGT if you don't mind 300' rotation on the Thrustmaster.

I'm sure he won't mind that, in fact it's probably more accessible without it.

Sorry I just went to get the link and the exact same website I ordered it from this morning has bumped the price from 69.99 to £112.34?

I have my ordered placed and I know someone else (in the F1 2011 thread) got the same wheel from the same place today for 69.99... !

Driving Force GT is a good steering wheel, if you find it under £100 then it's an easy decision to make

I know from owning a G27 good pedals make a considerable difference!

What stopped me buying the DFGT was the gear shifters are more like buttons than paddles (theyre very small).

Well the pedals look awful and as I say from owning a G27 (and G25 prior to that) I know how much of a difference good pedals make!

Sure the 900' rotation is great but it's negated by poor pedals and as you say naff shifters.

Same here.

I've also just been and purchased the Logitech Driving Force GT, I was in town and thought 'sod it', so I'm going to try that one today and then the F430 tomorrow and see which is better.

I'll report back with first hand experience, the one I don't like goes back or on ebay.
