Got a pair of Sharkoon Silent Eagle 92mm fans which I want to paint red, however it appears that the blades cannot me removed using the conventional method. Am I missing something here?

Probably not. I haven't had any sharkoon fans before so I don't know but some fans you can't take the blades off (akasa apaches and vipers to name ones I know) If this is the case you might have to look at doing it the long winded way of masking up the frame.

Also came across this problem with some xilence redwings. Incidentally, when i peeled the sticker of the back of one of my akasa vipers, a small magnet came out of the hole attached to the sticker. Curious as to what it's for as i forgot to put it back in.

I've always done the, remove sticker, then remove washer from shaft technique which I thought was universal! Obviously not! Maybe I can cut the piece of plastic where the hole would be to get to it. I've got a spare 80mm one I can test on.

The magnet may hold the fan blade on btw as i have a Noctua that come apart that way.

Thanks for the headsup on that clone. Ill have to check that, seems pretty plausible as it's an incredibly strong magnet for it's size. Im using the fan as a pull fan on a prolimatech megahelims, at least the wire clips have kept it in place if what you say is correct. Wouldnt fancy having the blades flying through my case.:D
