Multiple pile up near Taunton with at least 6 lorries and multiple other vehicles.

They are saying up to 30 people could be injured.

The pics on sky news are horrible to say the least. Lots of vehicles on fire.

Fingers crossed not too many people are hurt.

They're saying that the motorway could be shut for 24 hours due to the intensity of the fires.

With the standards of driving I witnessed southbound on the M5 on the way home this evening, I'm not really surprised.
I was the only vehicle in the inside lane for at LEAST a half mile, everyone else was jammed in the outside 2 lanes, with about a cars gap between everyone.
Pitch black, ****ing with rain and misty/fog patches..
Yea a great time to be hurtling along at 80mph..
Morons.

Some short footage on the homepage there and it looks like a war zone.

River wall collapses, now this. Nothing ever happens in Bridgwater.

Think Carnival traffic added to the congestion? I did notice earlier there was a fair bit of fog around too.

Went to the shops around 8 or so, not far from the motorway and said the carnival had lit up the sky pretty well. Might have been the fires from this! :o

Heard about this on the radio earlier before there was anything on the TV and it sounded terrible and it looks much worse than how they describe on 5Live.

Looking at the footage on the news I've never seen an accident anything like as bad just a mass of fire and wreckage :(

Weather was apparently shocking on that stretch of road so can only assume the lack of visibility caused so many vehicles to end up in it.

these morons you talk of, have lost their lives.

have some sympathy

Apparently a police officer on the scene said at least 10 dead and 18 seriously injured. Not official but wouldn't surprise me considering the magnitude of the crash :(.

If you cannot muster up compassion for the dead, at least show some respect.

What a sanctimonious arse.
