Since there seems to be more interest in this forum for UMVC3 than MVC3, I want to run a quick single or double (depending on the amount of people enter) elimination tournament. I don’t want this to drag out for months(years) like the SSF4 tournament. Once there are enough entries, I will start the draw and the tournament.

I and Artheas have played so much more marvel than anyone else in this forum, we are only allowed to play new characters. But any new comers (to UMVC3, not this forum obviously) or beginners are allowed to pick whatever you want. Please don't be afraid that you are going to get bodied, because most players I expect entering will be beginners as well, so everyone will be on even ground and I will provide some coaching if anyone wants it.

I will post the fixtures list once the draw is made and set a deadline for the games to be played each round, you will have to post here or message in XBL to arrange your games.

If you have a reason for not being able to play your games before the deadline, you will have to message me on XBL or post here. If both players are unable to play, they must report to me and I will rearrange the game for them (only if it is not too far out of the schedule). If only one of them tell me, whoever made the effort to arrange the games here or contact me will go though. If neither made any effort to play or stay active, they will both be disqualified.


RULES:

- First to win 5 games progresses
- Any character can be used (except me and Artheas)
- The winner of a game cannot change team (include order), but allow to change assists
- The loser of a game can change or remain with the same team
- If you Random Select and win, you must remain as that team (include order) until you lose but you are can change assists
- Lag test must be done first
- Final is a FT7 set
- All participants must stay active in the forum or will be disqualified automatically


I also have a feeling someone will not read, understand or just completely miss the rules but lets hope not. If it happens please point it out to your opponent via XBL and consider that match a warmup. If you fail to point it out at the time, and they go on to win, there is no point arguing about it later. If they do it twice in one set, they are disqualified.

Please post your entry in the following format (you don't have to post your team, but it is good to let people know what they are up against). And record some videos if you can.

The tournament will officially start on 5th of December.

if we only get 4 then its double elim. if we get more then its single to avoid dragging it on forever.

i am not even sure if i am going to have my team this order. in fact i am unsure about ghostrider, need more practice with him
 
I'm tentitively in. Provided I have the game by the time this starts. I was actually the best at mvc3 but I decided to pick bad characters to make it fair. :cool:
But seriously I will prob play a team with Dorm and or Vergil in it. Thinking Dorm/Hawkeye/Vergil
 
thanks for the interests guys. hoping to have more people! depending on how many people is joining this will start neither a week from now or two weeks to give people more time to practice. if you want more or less time just tell me what you prefer here.

btw ravl, you are going to get bodied by picking the worst character in the game!

Go on then i may as well have a go at this. But before adding me when are we going to be playing games? Is it going to be like the SSF4 league way or is it going to be specific days?

Im not sure about my team yet tho ¬_¬

btw, your x23 and hulk were looking quite good. maybe you can be a force with a dedicated assist character and some new and more powerful bnb than the generic light, med, heavy, launch, mmhs, hyper for your characters.

yeh should be fine. was jus checking the format on how the games will be run. If it was run on specific days it would kinda be a bit hard for me if i need to work during those hours and cant play.
 
Ah what the hell... what's the worst that could happen? Although I do think a Dr. Pepper advertisement could be made out of what is going to happen to me in this tournament -_-

nice team:) thats very similar to my team in ranked, which is nova, wesker, strider

anyway thanks for joining and first post updated. the tournament will offically start on 5th of December to give everyone enough time to at least learn one character. if anyone need more time please tell me.

Hyv sorry to be a pain but I actually have an offline tournament on December 5th for MK9 and AE, would I be okay to have my fight the night after? I'll be free the rest of that week after Monday.
 
i got my friend Not a Zergling to join. he is a decent sf4 player, and played mvc3 at the start but he quit quite early until recently he started playing umvc3 again. he cant post in ocuk so i will post on his behalf.
