Ok i'm really liking the look of this board-

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-492-AS&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1990

But does anyone know if the double posting issue has been resolved we have with other Asus boards?

Also looking at this one-

and this one-

Which one of the three would you guys recommend?

Asrock would be my choce. Aesthetically pleasing and very functional.
Nice range of accessories and it's got good spacing for air cooled gfx cards

After reading those links stulid, i think the Asus has gone for a burton, it's just that I liked all the usb 2 ports and bluetooth on the Asus board but after having nothing but hassle with my current board in sig it's time to change and I do want PCI-E3.

Just a couple of other things, other than running two or three GFX cards are there any other differences between the extrem 4 and 7 boards? and can I still use an SSD for caching on the Asrock boards as i'm a big fan of Smart response tech. Thanks guys.

You can still use SSD caching on these boards, the biggest difference between the two boards as well as the three card ability is there are 12 vs 8 CPU power phases for the Extreme7 and that Fatality vs the Extreme4.

On another note as those two high end boards have a NF200 chip to provide the extra PCI-E lanes for the slots, then only one of the slots is PCI-E3.0 compatible with a ivybridge CPU. The Extrem4 is PCI-E3.0 for both its two main 16X lenght slots.

Apart from the double posting, it has completly turned itself off and on again during posting resulting in me nearly having a heart attack, and for some strange reason USB 3 seem to be inactive at times, one minute they work the next they don't.

My nephew also had the deluxe board and it completly failed on him. I just want something reliable and Asrock seem to offer reliability going on what others have said.

Last comment - agreed.I have the ext 7 from asrock and it is proving to been v good so far. I believe the 7 is a better overclocker by most accounts due to slightly better power phase. I will say the bios for the asrocks are maturing still - but this is no different to any new board.Surprised to see Asus have dropped the ball so badly!!!!

Ignore my current sig - need to update it as I am still running my old machine alonside the new one until I finish getting my new system as I want it.

hope this helps

I recently purchased an AsRock Ext3 Gen3 board, the only issue I have with it is that my 10 year old cheap firewire card doesn't want to work on it. Other than that an issue with the mouse in the BIOS/EFI but this was sorted by a BIOS update.

I've always kept to MSI and Gigabyte but decided to give these guys a try after looking at reviews and a recommendation from a friend.

Did you try this?

At least Stulid can't blame Asus for this one ;) ,thanks for keeping us posted, also double boot is easy fixed by setting "keep current" in Bios under boot menu and then "Option Rom messages".

Oh bugger me, I have just made the change in the bios and double posting has now been fixed, just tried usb 3 port and seems no problems although i'll have to try this several times before judging whether it has been fixed.

Have I just wasted another £220 on a Asrock extreme 7??

I hate Asus, why are you doing this to me? boo hoo.
Really can't be bothered to change motherboards, so just see how the change in "option rom messages" affects things, But! all seems ok so far.

Does that fix the Rebooting issue, Loss of USB Power or both ?
As far as I am aware the Rebooting issue.

I read it in this thread, post 28: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18342598

stulid has so kindly pointed out some of the problem threads for the asus boards, what about all the issues with asrock boards ;)

I've seen more asrock problems then asus, if you're not aware I'm having an asrock problem so not an asrock fan ;)

To be fair you do get problems with all makes of boards, especially when they bring new chipsets out.
Saying that I've got an Asrock and had no problems with it, or the Abit before it or the Dfi before that. Guess I've just been very lucky.
Infact since I've been builing PC's from about 1998 the only hardware I've ever had to Rma was some Geil memory from here many years ago, think it was when socket 754 first came out.

Snap Lol.My asrock is working fine also - ignore sig, must update it soon.

I found the Asrock Extreme7 Solid but will not work with multi AMD cards and Eyfinity, just get mouse to screen lag.. i think its the NF200 chip as my p67 board works fine with 3Gpu's and eyefinity.. as for your Sig been a Nvidia card it should rock :)
