Hi guys

I've got two android devices:

HTC Hero (Well a T-Mobile G2) with a personal account on

Asus Transformer with a business account on

I have added my business account to my phone so I have two accounts on there.

If I buy something from the app store, such as the Swift keyboard will I only be able to access the software from one of the logged in accounts or will it work on either account as it's installed on the phone?

My other option is removing my personal account from the phone and just having the business account...if I removed the personal account from the phone what would I lose?

I guess the apps that I downloaded using my personal account (all free) would be lost but what about things such as text messages?

Are they stored with the phone or are they linked to your Google account? I'm so confused with it!:(

*edit* I should also add my contract will be renewed in January so I'll be getting a new phone then...how does it work with getting all the data from the old phone to the new phone?

Thanks!

Your apps are tied to the gmail account you were using when you bought the app. So it will only work on one not both.

And texts are saved on the phone not account. However contacts are save to the account, so you may lose them. You have to copy the contacts to the phone, then make them Google contacts.

Thanks for the reply that's brilliant.

OK, so if I remove the personal account from the phone and have just the business one I would need to:
Export the phonebook to the SD card, which I could then import from the other account.

Make a note of the apps I have on there.

The texts should be safe as they are just sat on the phone.

Is there anything I'm missing?

That's it really. A good app to backup everything to the SD card is an app called my backup pro from the market. I use it to make a copy of all my apps, contacts, texts and all sorts. Its very handy.

Thanks for the reply again. :)

I've been doing some digging after you said about contacts and found that I can export my Google contact as a .csv file and then upload and import them to another Google account (the business one).

I think that's probably the perfect solution for me...looking at my apps, I haven't got anything on there that I'm bothered about really, so fingers crossed I should be OK for removing the personal account and leaving the business account on!

Thanks again for your help! :D

If every thing is tied to your google account your phone book will be transfered over when you sign into your google acount.
I even have all my pics uploaded to picasa and all my music on google music so no matter what device im on as long as in signed into my google account every thing is there.

Thanks for the posts guys.

I've got the phone book transferred - exported/imported through a CSV file.

I'm talking about changing over two accounts on the same device Attu90, not moving one account to different devices.

I think I've backed up all I can...just got to delete the old account now...eek!
