Scum (Christmas burglars)

Woke up this morning and noticed that my parents front porch door was open. Burglars have been round, and as far as I can tell all that's taken was my daughters car seat. *********! Hopefully I can get a replacement before we fly out on the 28th otherwise we will have no safe way of getting to the airport. They have probably killed my mums plants, by rudely failing to shut the door after them as it is a heated porch and I don't think the plants will survive the frost.
I think I left the seat there, so I am annoyed with myself, for not being more security conscious.
I would imagine they will get next to no money for the car seat, utter scum basically.

Oops- this was obviously supposed to be posted in general discussion, not general hardware!

Bad news, but look on the bright side, everyone is ok, and thats replaceable, why take a car seat though?

Be thankful they didn't take your christmas presents too

Yeah, we tend to have fairly lax security here and it could have been much worse. I went out to the pub last night and the door was left on the latch. I am massively relieved I closed the door properly when I came back as my wifes handbag and a bunch of Christmas presents were just inside.

Well, car seat is a general hardware of a sort...so it's perfectly fine to post here I think? :p

Joke aside, sorry to hear what happen to you EdwardTeach. Hope you will get everything sorted out in time.

Because most burglars have the intellect of a baby, hence one of the burglars probably wanted it for personal use.

OP, sorry to hear that, especially on Christmas Eve. Its sickening what some people will do. Even worse at Christmas. You'd think even the lowest of the low would want to spend time with the people they know, love etc but clearly stealing is more important to them. When I have children, if they ever steal I'm going to disown them, no qualms about that and i'll make it clear to them from about 12 years old. At that age they should know fully well right from wrong imo.

I've seen so many shoplifters over the past few days, my faith in society is the same, everyone is generally a ******* and only thinks of themselves, and naturally I assume that until I know them and they proove me otherwise. And compared to the security guards I'm pretty happy go lucky, they've lost all faith in humanity!
I saw a couple of lads trying car doors when I got home from work at 3am yesterday, soon as I pulled up they ran off...

I say working should be mandatory, it'd stop this petty ***** thievery.

Sorry to hear that m8. This time of the year aswell... Don't let it spoil the days ahead, instead think of it as more of a warning to be more vigilant.

I hope you can source a replacement by the 28th.

Yeah I had some chavs in my garden earlier this year, went into my shed and everything. They could have nicked my lawnmower and some expensive tools. But no, all they took from my garden was some of those little £2 solar lights. Thick or what.

Gutted for you though Edward for having this happen this close to Cmas.

You’re lucky that they didn’t turn the place upside down. You should be able to sort out the seat before the 28th and don’t let it spoil your Christmas. :)

We had Christmas Eve burglars about 15 years ago. The kids presents were all wrapped up and on the floor in the sitting room. When I got up in the morning I noticed the back door had been forced open with a crowbar (it was one of those old style plastic cheap doors at the time).

They could have had away with the all presents, the brand new hi-fi, tele, video, CDs, car keys the lot. In the end all they took was a multi corkscrew/knife tool thing and a pen we'd left on the kitchen worktop. Bizarre.

Then again two months later they had my BMW off the drive the *****.
