Sound issue with connecting PC to TV

Hi all,

I have my system set up so that I use the PC monitor for video, and I connect the TV if I want another screen.

The TV is connected to my GTX 460 1GB via mini-hdmi ----> HDMI

For audio I either use a 3.5mm cable from the headphone jack (in process of buying an optical cable) to the audio in on my Sony DAV DZ260, this is how I do it when just using PC monitor

When using the TV too I use the HDMI for sound going to the TV, and then optical cable to the DAV DZ260. When I unplug the 3.5mm cable from PC, the PC automatically switches to the HDMI cable for audio, and I switch the DAV DZ260 to the 'TV' input

This used to work fine up until today, and I have not knowingly changed any settings to do with the audio

This is what I am seeing:

And the audio from 3.5mm cable is working, but I cannot get anything from HDMI cable anymore :confused:

The TV is plugged in (even though the picture says it isn't, because I am using it as a monitor), but as it thinks it is 'not plugged in', it won't let me send any sound down the HDMI cable

Extra info: The sound did randomly stop the other day, then I pressed windows + P, switched from computer monitor and TV, to just monitor, then back to both. During this I also turned the sound system to another input then back to TV and it started working again

Any ideas guys????

Hope you can help, :)

Odd

Just thought I would let you all know that today it IS working like normal

Very odd

Anyone know why this is happening?

Daft suggestion, but I have a TV as a monitor which has built in speakers, and when swtiching over inputs, in Nvidia control panel, where you change the screen resolution it also enables the option to enable sound through the HDMI for example:

1920 x 1080 Audio Enabled
1920 x 1080 Audio Disabled

Hmmm no I just checked and I don't get the audio option

It still seems to be working at the moment so hopefully it will carry on working :)

I have just had this sound problem again, it was working just fine the other day,

I have also found the HDMI Audio Enabled setting, and it IS on enabled and NOT disabled but still not sound. I have changed between the two settings, but still nothing

Any ideas?
