Anyone else in/around Stoke-on-Trent currently running on the Vrigin 100Mb service?

I've recently had it installed but would like to hear some other peoples comments good or bad of the service around the Stoke area. Im currrently running a free monitor to keep an eye on latency and packetloss and would be good to compare with someone elses in the area
You can set one up here:

Thanks :)

Anyone else got one to compare with?

moving house soon and will be installing 100MB so I'll definitely monitor it

what is the average speed you are getting?

just resarted mine so its blank atm but itll fill up eventually and give u something to compare to i live on outskirts of london in surrey

also when virgin enginers have been trying get my tv working properly to many hd boxes on 1 line :( they said 100mb needs tweaking virgins end and recomended the vm 100mb forum to ask the support team there to look at ur line stats and see what they can do.

EDIT:TwsT i get 99-101 testing on london and paris servers (on speedtest.net) as there only ones that give acurate results on 100mb

EDIT: just found a snapshot from 23rd ish this should help a lot more

I'm having the upgrade from 50 to 100 in stoke on the 12th.

What sort of speeds are you getting as I can max my 50 line easily when downloading.

This is now but I'll keep it running for the upgrade too

ive not really tried to max it out most servers i dl stuff from cant upload fast enough any suggestions on decent dl tests? that can max a 100mb or atleast strain it

tough one. Got 100MB here in glasgow and the only thing that will max me out is usenet./torrents after midnight.

To be honest 100MB is too much, It's not needed right now. It is handy being able to d/l 15GB in less than 30 mins, and the 10MB upload is awesome, but most servers can't saturate your line. Browsign is no different on 100MB than 10MB.

If they offered a 10/10 service for less I'd take it. I can upload to my friends and max out their lines before my limits are hit, i.e. most of my friends have a less than 10MB connection.

i download a lot from iTunes and steam to be honest, i can get 5.5mb downloads on torrent at the minute too

have you tried a few speed tests and a ping test?

www.speedtest.net
pingtest.net
www.speedtest.bbmax.co.uk

i did have the official vm one but have lost the log in the engineer gave me when i had my 50mb installed.

will edit with my results now then update on the 12th

ping test crashes my ie atm not quite sure why same on firefox

EDIT: never tried usenets so looks like ill be finding a LEGAL torrent :P to test my con and then coming up with a way to escape the shaping

i think my laptop needs a reinstall its started playing random beeps every so often (not motherboard beeps) am thinking pointless virus lol

will run some speedtests tonight but i only usually see around 50meg using london/paris servers. I've hit 11.6MB on torrent before but not reguarly. Pings seem to be all over the place at the mo :(

I am really happy with my 100meg, maybe I am just lucky. I assumed it was the norm for 100meg Virgin users to get what they pay for.
I am hitting 12.5mbs on pretty much any torrent I have downloaded so far any time of day. Speeds have been a constant 104meg on www.speedtest.net website.

As said before tho, 100meg is not really needed if you are on 50meg already, what can I say I hate waiting for things:D

Think that's the first time i ever saw speedtest over 100. First time I've used that remote host though...

there was a new config sent out in December to up the downstream rate to 110000000 bps, presumably to counter the overheads to get people closer to the 100Mb results.
