hi guys

Anyone got a liquid metal. I am still using a 5230. That is close to dying and want something cheap to buy. Anyone got one? Have been reading reviews and they seem ok. Anyone any bad experiences of them

£150 is an awkward budget. I'd either get the san fran 2 for £100 from the well known catalogue or the Nexus S for £199 from cpw.

seen the samsung galaxy ace today in cpw for 119. Whats it like? That or the acer?

I purchased one for my wife and it was delivered today.
I'll have a play once she gets home and opens it and let you know how it compares to my old Galaxy S.
I read the reviews over at ukdeals and for £115 I thought it was a bargain.

The Acer is actually a very decent handset and I'd it take over the Ace any day of the week.

Its got more ram : 512mb vs 278mb
Better GPU : Adreno 205 vs Adreno 200
Higher Res screen : 800x480 vs 480x320
More internal app space : 512mb vs 158mb

It also has better build quality and supports Flash where as the Ace does not.

The Acer is a top phone for the price from what I've researched previously (whilst looking for the missus).

Had a play and here are my thoughts.

Very good build quality, looks and feels far more expensive than it is.

Comes with 2gb sd card and a slip case in a nice box.

Screen is bright and clear, images crisp.

Has nice notification lights on the top edge for missed calls/messages

Very easy to hold due to its curves and size.

Touch is very good and I could type easily.

Comes with 2.3.6 Gingerbread installed and I actually like the Acer UI.

It is faster than my old galaxy s (my daughters now) at everything.

I am even considering buying as a second phone to play with Android again !

The only possible minus is that the curved screen is not glass apparently (looks like glass to me) and may scratch more easily.

But a screen protector should sort that and at least it wont break when it gets dropped.
